Re: Was Norris right to give Piastri the position?
I think that as we've seen for most of the season that on a heavier fuel load Piastri is perhaps a tad quicker than Norris, usually getting better starts, but as the race progresses and the fuel load lessens, Norris' feel for the car improves with every lap and he can run his teammate down consiste...

And also the group that has voted Lewis higher than Russell; so much so that he ranks higher in this poll, even though he has objectively had a clearly worse season so far. Something tells me it might have a significant overlap  I have Russell ahead, but I guess it's recency bias that we alway...

I heard Mercedes is looking for an experienced hand as a replacement for Lewis... That explains the rumour that Toto Wolff recently ...

Re: The Official Oscar Piastri Thread
Piastri was as mentioned half a sec off Norris in qualifying - but with some mitigating factors and probably some nerves as well - but Norris only just scraped into Q2 even if he improved to get 11th - so could easily have started 16th. Then in the race - Piastri was doing well - a number of overtak...

Re: 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Race Thread
Lando is seriously not being a team player - he got gifted a position by team telling Daniel to hold station in Melbourne when he was seconds a lap faster in last laps there - and he cost Daniel 5-12 seconds in first stint here - so probably cost them chance to be in front of Alonso and possibly Vet...

Re: Abu Dhabi 2021 - How has it left you feeling?
Didn't agree with the decision by Masi - should have either let all cars through (which was the precedent) - in which case probably wouldn't go racing - or let none through and then would have had a few cars for Max to pass (with blue flags to help and no doubt not wanting to hinder) and probably a ...

It's interesting what people say in terms of comparisons - Dolomite has given some context but what is missing is the extreme danger in the early days compared to now - The reality is that there was 10% chance of DYING every time a driver raced in the 50s - and many did - so to even survive (let alo...

I wonder what the answer is for most expensive (or important) crash in terms of impact on championships?
What for instance would have happened if Senna didn't crash (or even didn't die) in 1994?

I think it's clear max is a talent - but has had preferential treatment at team as well (not that it's been the main issue affecting his success I add)
Still - I'm less clear that max would perform in a midfield car - and not sure without preferential treatment he'd do as well as he has
