Re: Mathematics of the championship

All Hamilton needs is to do exactly what he has done this weekend. Simply follow home Rosberg. Should be fairly straight forward i hope. Got a feeling that Ham will even win it from pole. Rosberg has yet to string two wins together this season. How important was that Hungarian GP result (along with ...

Re: So you want to win the 2014 WDC...

I have said it before in another forum, but if i were Hamilton, and i still had the points lead into the final race i would simply take Rosberg out of the race, i know its wrong morally, but hey, it would ensure the world championship and avoid any unfortunate mishaps/retirements that could hand the...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread

Imagine this scenario, that Lewis wins the next 3 races with Rosberg 2nd, Lewis takes a 31 point lead into the final race. It could all be lost/undone due to an element of bad luck, engine failure etc at the final race and Rosberg goes onto win the race and the title.(Having won only 5 races compare...

Interesting observation from someone on another article I just read "Another stat: Over the last 6 races, both LH & NR have scored 98 points each. This despite Nico starting 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2 on the grid and Lewis starting 9, 6, 20, 22, 2, 1 on the grid. So there is a plenty hope for Lewis as long a...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread

Can't see them both being 1-2 in all remaining GPs. There's going to be an inevitable engine penalty for Ham (and Rosberg?) at some stage also. If that gap is down to 13 points or less, then either of them can have the title by winning the last race (even if the other comes in 2nd). Theres still a l...

Re: WDC 2014, Rosberg or Hamilton

Hamilton is in fine form at present and long may it continue, i'm just concerned that Hamilton could build a healthy 30+ points lead throughout the season and into the final race and then have some horrible misfortune and Rosberg take the title with the wretched double points rule, a massive 50 poin...

I'm going Hamilton, simply because i'm a fan of his. It will certainly be a Mercedes Champion though. That machine is a class apart.

Only race 1 i know, but those 25 unanswered points for Rosberg are pretty substantial.

would love to see a Senna/Prost type season duel.

I love F1 and always will, i don't mind Seb winning all the time, it would just be nice (currently) if he had to scrap for his win or provide some element of entertainment, i thought today may have presented that opportunity with Seb having a few laps before he got Webber. Hamiltons race was a result of what was initially a decent start. If he had kept out to the right, instead of going down the inside Grosjean probably wouldn't of passed him………and avoided all of what was to happen after.

I bet Fernando is doing a little dance somewhere. Hamilton needs Button between himself and Alonso when the flag drops. Button will now be starting from sixth at best but probably 8th or lower. Re: My mind can't quite comprehend this, Lewis, Alonso & Vet

For Alonso to be reeled in Hamilton needs to outscore Alonso by an average of 9pts per race and Vettel by 4pts per race for the remaining 6 grand prix. This is very much acheivable, based on the fact that as previously mentioned Alonso is now in at best the 3rd fastest car. I can see Hamilton starti...

Disagree with the OP. As Alonso said in 2010, one race at a time and just keep aiming for the podium and look at how close he came to bringing home the WDC. Hamilton only needs to outscore Alonso by 6 points per race, which is only a couple of positions ahead each race (in the bigger points) - which...

So a decent opportunity for Alonsos rivals to score some solid points over him, yet he still starts ahead of them all! Big ask now, 60 odd points or so with 10 races remaining. Still possible, and with the Mclaren seemingly back on the pace, throw jenson into the mix and perhaps its not quite as bad as it looks.
