Re: 2015 Monaco GP Race Thread
Why was the virtual safety car changed to a safety car? a virtual safety car should have been fine as it bans overtaking and forces driving to delta's the idea been it protects gaps built up and has faster restarts. I think the cars must have been too spread out for the recovery crew to get Verstap...

all they need to do is this.
half points for quali
reverse grid
no FP before race, only FP after race.
remove beeps for changing gear
remove delta times
bring all 4 compounds to each race
no SC or red flag in wet tire conditions
bring back refueling and race fuel in Q3

Re: We've All Been Duped and Taken as Fools
I totally agree with the OP. I think it's obvious to anyone with at least one cynical bone in their body. F1 has been heading in this direction for years though (Red Bull hid their full dominance in 2011, though it was never in the same league as that enjoyed by Merc). What's worse is the complexit...

ironically they claim softer tires have better racing but both rosberg and vettel said the tires were too weak to close up and try to overtake. so harder tires do give better racing. Whilst I think merc's tire issue never went away, I am not convinced pirelli have softened them again this year, I th...

since FRIC ban merc have lost pace, and in hungary they seemed to struggle against red bull pace as well. I think the gap is already much closer and I be surprised if its over 0.5s come the last race. So given lewis's reliability ricciardo may well finish 2nd, but I Cannot see him managing to beat b...

Re: Loss of viewers - Loss of interest but why?
Short answer is: Mercedes Domination. People want a close fight between several drivers AND several teams. They do not want to see a couple of cars get away from the rest. Also yes, maybe the sound change played some part on it, but I dont think its that important. I mean if that would be the case,...

what is the evidence of saying FRIC wont make much difference, noone here has a clue of the affect of it, just guessing.
But its logical to assume the FIA wouldnt go to the trouble of banning a device that only gives 1 tenth lap time.

What was stopping them stating its allowed now but not in 2015? Take this quote. Although the timing of the FIA intervention - mid-season - has been viewed as strange, announcing the plan any later would have compromised work that teams are already doing on their 2015 design. Teams will not want to ...

Hamilton would probably have qualified better than Jenson or Perez have. He may even have made Q3 every race if he'd stayed at McLaren but poles and wins are asking for too much. The MP4-28 simply isn't as competitive as the RBR, Merc, Ferrari or Lotus. That's a lot of cars to think that Hamilton c...

Re: Is part of the 2014 regulations going to end quali farce
1 - give points for quali, the points are voided if dont do a timed lap thats within 105% of pole.
12,10,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 points for Q3 from 1st to 10th.
2 - extra set of tryes available for Q3 seperate from race allocation.
3 - Bring back refueling so we add fuel load to variance.

I agree that it would be closer to fair if all teams (other than Merc) were given FIA permission to use their current drivers to 'test' the Pirelli tyres. Hopefully it would benefit Pirelli enormously to get such a large amount of testing data, and it would help even the field for the other teams i...
