Re: Rosberg just went up in my opinion - thanks to Nigel Man
Rosberg made a mess of a championchip that could have been so much more easily won by him. Yes, Lewis stole the momentum off Nico mid season, particularly in Germany I felt his season was over. The press had written him off, saying he was psychologically gone. HOWEVER, the fact that Rosberg came ou...

(1) What are you talking about? How can you say that the Renault qualified like the McLaren version 1 when the data say the exact opposite? (2) There is no heart loss at play here.. Lewis lost his Australian (big) points and was unlucky in some instances. (3) It is very dishonest to say that Alonso...

Re: F1.com interview with Juan Pablo Montoya
2009: the Renault car was much slower than the McLaren-Mercedes. Alonso/Renault scored just 1 podium (3rd place), Ham/McLaren 5 (incl 2x 1st, 1x 2nd and 2x3rd); Alonso/Renault 5x top six places, Ham/McL 8x top six places. There was no comparison between the two cars; the McL-M was almost as fast as...

Re: Bottas officially signed with Mercedes AMG Petronas
Of all the options available to Mercedes, he's the 'safest'. Alonso would have been interesting but nowhere near as bad as 2007. Werhlein is unproven and probably would've caused more headaches than Rosberg ever did. At the very least, Merc now have a relatively strong driver line-up, although not ...

Re: Do you think Alonso would want to go to Mercedes?
Fernando would crush Hamilton into tiny dust particles if he joined the dream team. But I think Mercedes must have a German driver in the team, and there are some very good options to make that happen. So if Fernando joins, Mercedes must fire Hamilton for his dirty tactics in Abu Dhabi and then the...

If Mercedes play fair and stop blowing up Hamilton's engines there is not a driver on the grid that can better Hamilton. If Alonso couldn't put Hamilton away as a rookie, I wonder what makes people think he can do so now. I woudn't even be close. I see some already making excuses talking about it b...

Re: Do you think Alonso would want to go to Mercedes?
I agree that Alonso would probably take the Merc drive. Imo he is confident enough going against Hamilton (or anyone else) and would slightly shade Lewis (or anyone else) in wins if paired. But not so sure Lewis would be thrilled. He had to pull out all stops to beat Rosberg, but Alonso would be 's...

Maybe in qualification but Rosberg lacks Alonso's tenacity to keep it up during a whole race. I like Nico. But I'm realistic about where he stands. He's the mid 2010s Felipe Massa, there or thereabouts. Maybe a few less mistakes. But overall the same level in my book. Check how far away Rosberg was from Massa in 2010-2012, especially 2010, when Mercedes was nowhere near Ferrari. Rosberg is ...
