Re: The 100 Greatest of All Time (Update)
In your opinion we could say the same of Hamilton in 2017 and 2018, certainly 2008. The key here is that neither 2008 or 2018 were won against Verstappen. They were won against Massa, Raikkonen and Vettel. Mercedes was the best car in 2017, in my view, so I don’t count that one. Raikkonen finished ...

Re: PF1 Forum TMW 2024 prediction thread 4: Ferrari and McLaren
Stats tell us that Leclerc is faster both in qualifying and the race however WDC points don't always reflect that, Sainz was very close to going 2-1 against Leclerc, a point perhaps relevant to another discussion on the board, however you always have to favour the faster driver and that's Leclerc. ...

Re: The 100 Greatest of All Time (Update)
Perez is 34 and I don’t think he’s got anything left in him at this stage, there’s a Webber 2013 vibe around Perez at the moment where everyone can feel that he’s on his last legs. Eventually, I think Verstappen will have a teammate like Leclerc, Russell or Norris. But we will have to wait for some...

Re: Michael Masi. 1 Year on.
It should be noted what Perez did to Hamilton this race, it is greatly applauded by many, but wasnt it also interfering with racing ? If in your view it is only fair to remove cars so Max is not held up from catching Hamilton, then you must also think that what Perez did was unfair, as holding up H...

Re: The 100 Greatest of All Time (Update)
The problem is that almost every GOAT contender has at least one serious bullet-hole in their legacy. Schumacher: Jerez 1997, no competitive teammate Senna: Suzuka 1990, probably a ban worthy action. Clark: lost to Moss when he had factory support Hamilton: lost to Button, Rosberg and Russell, none...

Re: Hamilton vs Leclerc
Hamilton isn't the first and won't be the last to point the finger (both at others and at himself) when things go wrong. Leclerc has also vented frustration with his team - and not been slow to blame himself (the infamous 'I am an idiot') as well. Hopefully Vasseur will set the theme and where to dr...

Re: Silly Season 2025
I can't see any motivation for Red Bull to take on Hamilton to partner Verstappen. Red Bull's ethos generally seems to be having a good foil for the current big thing or taking on the next big thing. Verastappen is already Red Bull's current big thing and Hamilton is an established big thing - it's...

Re: Hamilton vs Leclerc
This is my question mark. Hamilton is great at managing the car but I don't see the same when it comes to dynamic strategy management from the cockpit (unlike, say, Vettel during his time at Ferrari who - on more than one occassion - called the strategy shots). On the other hand, I'd expect Vasseur...

I think it is very unlikely given Verstappen's very high levels of performance. So the accusations of an unfair playing field will continue to the rounds until Verstappen retires. No doubt Perez is a goner after this season ends. Who's your money on for '25? If Red Bull can scoop up any kind of rea...

just like "black" may be interpreted as "white". This kind of argument makes no sense and would not stand infront of a legal court fex. 'Any' and 'all' are not akin to 'black' and 'white.' Replace 'any' with 'none' and you have a genuine comparison. https://www.michbar.org/file/generalinfo/plaineng...

Aragon is great for bikes but I fear that it wouldn't be a good spectacle for F1 racing (I'd love to be proven wrong). Agree with the others.Paolo_Lasardi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 12:03 amI liked Portimão a lot and would love to see Hockenheim coming back. I also like Istanbul and Aragon Motorland.

I think that both Piastri and Norris can improve further. Piastri, obviously, having learnt the ropes at the deep end in his first season. But, as has been mentioned above, Norris missed a couple of possible poles with small mistakes in the crunch part of quali. I really hope that McLaren is a genui...

Is it too much of a stretch to imagine Albon making it back into the second RB seat? I'm not convinced by either of the two AT drivers and would have been tempted to plump for Lawson if anyone. Albon, meanwhile, has mullered Sargeant who has beaten Lawson in a junior series (yes, that's not necessar...
