Re: So, do people want "novelty" races now ?

Ah - get you! No - don't want to see silly, or staged, races. If I put my cynical hat on I'd say that we observe more than enough of that with some questionable uses of the Safety Car.

How was that a novelty race?
If you're referring to Turkey, I'd reply by saying that the circumstances across the weekend (new surface plus wet weather) were unusual - or, in other words, novel.

Honestly, most of the races this season have been a complete blur in my mind. 70th anniversary , Monza and Turkey are the only races which left any kind of impression on me. I presume that was the year he crashed in a rather undignified way at one of the Lesmos! I think 2011 was the year he decided to dial down the inner Senna and dial up the inner Prost. That was 2 years prior, and more forgiveable because he was giving it everything to snatch a 2nd place to keep up t...

There are a number of candidates who I'd have no argument against. I'm going to give the nod to Hamilton. That car has been far from its best all weekend and, whist I suspect that they managed to find a better setup (relative to Friday / Saturday!), there was still an awful lot of skill, patience an...

. For the posted video PART of the tyre can be seen over the line. The regs (See two of my posts above for EXACT wording) state "any part of the car" - NOT what the stewards re-wrote of "any part of the car COMPLETELY over". When? I've already questioned which of his it exits were under investigation. Plus, for the one where footage has been shared (where he joined behind Perez), I did not see any part of the car completely across the line.
I'm not going to say that my observation is infallible - it's just how I saw it.

Can we clear something up? The incident review states a time of 13:34. with the race having started at 12:10, surely that wasn't the exit where he tucked in between Perez and Vettel, his car getting a little laryas he rejoined? If it is, that replay does not convince me that any part of his car comp...

Norris didn't leave room on the approach to the corner. As far as I know, there is no requirement to leave room after the apex; this would explain why the FIA believes it is fine for the one ahead to run the other off the track. In this case, that would be Stroll running Norris off the track. Corre...

Back to seatbelts - I'm surprised that the FIA isn't making more noise about this. It's been pushing the safety issue for some time and isn't the wearing of seatbelts a fundamental safety aspect?

Why Perez? He benefited from qualifying poorly to be on the right tyre.
