Most expensive crash in F1?

While watching the exciting Tuscan Grand Prix I began to wonder if maybe that scary crash during the safety car restart was perhaps the most expensive wrecks in a single incident in F1, in term of the cost of cars lost? I'm taking some big liberties of course: I'm not adjusting for inflation, and th...

Re: Should Schumacher finally decide to call it a day

But it was a great lap. Actually I don't think it was shown in tv so how do you know? :] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-QdCMkd0lA Copied this from a different thread. I know drivers are adjusting brake bias etc all the time, but seeing it done through the swimming pool and nailing the apexes perf...

Re: Hamilton did he move twice?

Is it too late for a penalty yes? He was going to pass Vettel anyway to be honest. The move was more significant than his one on Alonso which gained him a penalty last year. It is totally irrelevant if he "would have got past him anyway" - if that was the case he shouldn't have weaved. The stewards...

Re: Hamilton did he move twice?

Those following followed him exactly, it wasn't a move in response to an overtake from behind so it wasn't an attempt to block. Really, people need to read what a defensive move is, but it's pretty obviously not an issue.

Re: Official 2012 Chinese Grand Prix thread

Rosberg won by about 25 seconds, but only 30 seconds separated 2nd to 16th (and with no safety cars to artificially bunch them up) Wow. That's an interesting stat, probably partially do to the follow the leader trains that were forming later in the race... still very impressive job from Nico!! :pro...

Re: Official 2012 Chinese Grand Prix thread

Defending means moving laterally to prevent someone from passing you on that side.. pretty simple, and it wasn't defending at all, though I know too much weaving even though it's not a blocking defense will get the ire of some officials up. But in this case it's clearly not an issue.

Re: Official 2012 Chinese Grand Prix thread

" drivers may no longer move back onto the racing line having moved off it to defend a position." this is the rule, in it was vettel on Hamilton, there would be a forum full of it. If he gets 20 sec he'll be out of the points! He wasn't defending his position though. Vettel actually followed behind...

Re: The Official 2012 Malaysia GP Race Thread

I know Europe is the main viewership of F1, but us fans in other parts of the world have to watch almost every race at highly inconvienient times, so why not have the race during non-monsoon hours, and save this kind of garbage.

I get that they had to put out the safety car for safety reasons, but that was some interesting racing before. :D
