Russell's qualifying then relative lack of race pace has shades of Rosberg 2014 with Rosberg often being half a second slower in the races.
I was thinking the same.

Re: 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread

Not sure who would have won if Max hadn't taken out Lewis, would have been an amazing race. However, he also had a chance at the end and George was too fast pure and simple . This could be his coming of age moment. Not pure and simple, let’s not forget the floor damage from the contact with Max. De...

It looks like a half points race. Just how lucky is Hamilton? That's a full 2.5 races handed to him on a platter.
I think most would agree that had there been a race, Lewis would have gotten by George at the very least. How does the current scenario relate to luck on Hamilton’s part?

Re: The best performing drivers of each season in the 2010s

Wow! I started to really follow F1 in 2012, thus am still somewhat “new” to the sport. Given his performance against Russell last year, never in a million years would I have thought that Kubica would have ranked at the top of anyone’s list for a given year. Was he really that good? Hamilton spoke ve...

Re: Massa offered €6 million to race for Williams in 2017

Massa is a waist of time, by mid-season we will hear rumors about another retirement party in Brazil? Most likely seeing as it will be a one year deal and he just retired once, I don't see your problem, you make it sound like Massa was begging to come back. They are asking him, let's not forget. Oh...

Is this true? I thought the radio opened up for communication once again after the start of the first lap. Still no coaching during formation. Unless I am mistaken?

Re: Nico 2014 - "I strongly dislike coming second to Lewis"

Before the pit gaffe in Monaco, Lewis was some 25 seconds ahead of Nico. This, at a track in which Nico is considered to be strong, and perhaps considers himself to be strong. Had there been no SC, it would not have been a thrashing, it would have been an embarrassment. Nico knows the deal given how...

Re: The Official NICO ROSBERG thread

Hamilton cost Rosberg 2nd place. Should Hamilton have let Rosberg through? If so, why? How about the rest of the pack following behind? He is racing for the WDC you know. You don't simply give points away. In addition, Rosberg was between 1 and 2 seconds back. No way Hamilton should have slowed dow...

First time this year that a Mercedes finishes out of the podium (Rosberg 4th) excluding DNF's... Hamilton 3rd? what ..... Hamilton is on the podium driving a Mercedes. Read your post back. :uhoh: x( Actually, the post was quite clear. First time "a" Mercedes finishes out of the podium excluding DNF...

Re: 2014 German GP race thread

I suspect that he was at least in some of them excessively aggressive and that is possibly the main reason he did not get 2nd place. It would seem LH lost out on 2nd primarily due to his collision with Button. With that said, I would not consider that move to have been aggressive in any way, but ra...

Re: Alonso's Ferrari suddenly on steroids?

I bet they have turned up the boost on the engines and now they wont last the season but atleast they wont be embarrassed. Sound romantic in theory, but you cannot up the boost without an extra supply of fuel; it's the limited fuel flows that capping the boost and ultimate HP. It's now just small v...
