Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Australia 2024

So, Magnussen beats Hülkenberg in qualifying but falls behind him in the race because Hülkenberg pitted under VSC. Magnussen goes on to finish one place behind him. But Hülkenberg easily wins the TMW - okay ... ? I think that's probably a case of people not knowing that happened. ... and ...

Not really true he is presently tracking at 1 tenth slower, still early days in the season though. I'm not just considering the last 3 races. My impression is that when Piastri out-qualified Norris late last year, it was usually because Norris was a sizable chunk quicker but fluffed his lap. That's...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Australia 2024

In general, I've never set a threshold for a certain number/percentage of the votes needed to count as a TMW win, mainly as even in the race weekend that had the lowest votes (Spa 2021) we still got several votes per team so it hasn't really come up before. Perhaps it is something that needs to be ...

Declaring a driver that didn't participate in the race winner against his team mate is making a mockery of this thread. Well the evidence wasn't really telling finishing 3rd in the 3rd fastest car, if he had finished 8th like Russell then that would have made it more believable. He finished third, but based on the first three races this season he is looking nowhere near capable of repeating the feat even if Mercedes...

Re: So... who replaces Lewis at Mercedes?

Sainz wouldn't be a good fit at Red Bull imo, he prefers a car with a stable rear and Max a car with as much front end as possible. Completely contrasting styles This is a valid concern for Sainz. At Ferrari, he's found success as the car has moved closer to his preferences, but that seems unlikely...

Missed that Alonso got a penalty til now. Very confused. Is the art of slowing down in a corner to reduce the car behind’s momentum dead? At this stage, I feel like I have seen enough of Leclerc and Russell to know that they are the Vettel and Rosberg of this generation. Re: How many times (if any) do you think race ban should have occured since Spa 2012?

I have always personally believed that Verstappen did the 2021 Monza incident as an intentional takeout, but unless the stewards were able to somehow demonstrate that, it doesn't rise to the level of a race ban. As far as the danger level of how exactly the collision played out, you can't give penal...

I think there's a pretty clear argument for Red Bull bringing the sport into disrepute if they're actually engaging in a coverup. It's drawn international attention at this point, and it's getting people that don't normally care about F1 to suddenly notice it in a bad light.

Vettel in Baku is the one that comes immediately to mind; I think he should have had a black flag for the race, and a possible suspension after interviewing with the stewards to determine mindset, awareness, etc. Verstappen's brake check in Saudi Arabia, while bad, doesn't rise to the level of a rac...
