Re: 2024 Miami Grand Prix Race Thread

Can you imagine the conspiracy theories if something like this assisted Verstappen to a win. Totally different situation now. In 2021, assisting Verstappen to a win was a way to break the stranglehold of Mercedes domination and confirm the hype that had already been heaped on Verstappen as The Next...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Charles was leading when he retired. Max had 31/32 laps to cut down a 15 second lead or so, and then pass Charles. Charles would have to make his tires last 41 laps compared to 31/32 laps for Max. We have no idea how it would have played out, because we didn't get to see Charles vs. Max on the same...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Miami 2024

Note that I did not watch the 'Sprint', and as such I will be basing everything anecdotal on the actual race. I consider it to be the far more important event, although with qualifying I'll give similar weight to both. Verstappen over Perez -- Respectable by Perez, or poor drive by Max's standards? ...

As of today, Hamilton and Norris have completed the same number of races for McLaren - 110. I find that stat incredible. Again, the phrase was "as fast as RB" not "faster than RB". I think it's been shown that Ferrari was close enough to RB/Max in 11 or 12 of the first 13 races (exceptions being Imola and perhaps Miami) for that comment to be considered valid. Feel free to offer analysis or your reasoning for believi...

Norris and Hamilton for me. Qualifying wasn't great for either, but come race day they both delivered. Ocon doesn't get my vote because of how he and Gasly fought on the first few laps. this race yesterday was a fine reminder that without the car Max cant win just like everyone in f1, and that he does mistakes too. Yes, Max makes mistakes, just like every other driver. Worse but still somewhat defeats what you said, in 2019 Mercedes had competition throughout the season, in 2022 Red Bull had little competition in the second half of the season. Red Bull 2022 had more and stronger competition than Mercedes 2019 at every stage. Ferrari were not a factor after TD039,...
