Re: Hamilton/Verstappen British GP 2021 Collision Discussion

Make all unsafe releases an instant black flag. That should prevent it happening often, and will also make pit lane infractions - where there are literally men and women standing inches from the cars - feel like a far more serious offence.

Re: Hamilton/Verstappen British GP 2021 Collision Discussion

I'm not sure how much a breach of traffic laws can be compared to an occurrence on a live race track. The mentality and goals are very different, as is the risk/reward balance.

I seem to be a bit off the norm, especially lower down the field. 1 Lando Norris As with others, I struggled to pick between Lando and Max, but in the end the consistency and devastation of Ricciardo edged it for me. He'd be continuing his record-breaking points run if not for Bottas forgetting he w...

I switched to Lewis/Merc. The second half of the year is when Lewis is at his best. Merc can generally ramp up development as needed. Max and Red Bull will struggle at this point, though I hope I'm wrong in the interests of a close fight.

Seen a replay of the Spa accident. Horrifyingly similar to the Hubert accident, I hope they don't overreact and butcher Raidillon over this. Weirdly I think they could make it safer AND improve it, simply by making it off-camber, so any stricken cars are more likely to roll off track into the runof...

Ricciardo should be relieved of his duties .. The lack of catch fencing might be considered a mitigating factor, although I do expect the drivers to get most of the blame. Either way though, it could lead to more outcry from the locals and the council could put them in a difficult position given that response. Even if the investigation exonera...

Re: 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread

As a Lewis fan, this may be the first time I’ve ever not wanted a wet race. Which suggests to me that some of us don't feel he's the best driver in the wet. However, I still back Hamilton. I'd love to see Verstappen put it in the barriers trying to catch Hamilton in the wet. However, what I want to...

The future of small domestic circuits

The way small tracks are restricted, at least in the UK, it's starting to look like they are no longer viable venues. Yesterday's incident at Brands Hatch - not the only fatal incident they've had in recent years - is putting a lot of attention on a track that already has a lot of local opposition (...

Max can't overtake Lewis on the pit exit, because he'd get a penalty for crossing the white line. He can't overtake into T1 because Lewis got the jump when he eventually accelerated. Out of the chicane, Lewis accelerates away, and then brakes once Max has committed to a line, ensuring he just has to...

Partly delayed updates. But Checo isn't an absolute top driver - and it's showing now that maybe Albon and Gasly are every bit as good as Checo. I can't buy that. Williams have said they no longer need pay drivers.
