Re: Christian Horner Allegations Thread
According to the Daily Mail (I know), Jos is calling for Horner’s head because Red Bull will ‘explode’ is Horner remains as team principal. According the article Verstappen senior had a row in Horner’s office on Friday night. Horner believes Verstappen senior has orchestrated a smear campaign. Jos ...

Re: Christian Horner Allegations Thread
For his sake, this better be true. If not, he risks alienating the Red Bull team and Max Verstappen.
A Dutch F1 reporter without access to Verstappen will not have much of a career left.

Re: Christian Horner Allegations Thread
The allegation is horrendous if proven right: 1758500680724054406 If true - IF - then it seems to be a slam dunk against Horner. Only thing that can save him is a big settlement and RBR desperately wanting to keep him but in my eyes that would be regressive and wrong. Clearly none of us really know...

I was looking at the 2021 sporting regulations yesterday, and I am not convinced the rules were changed as you suggest. There is room for interpretation. If there is some interpretation that would allow Leclerc 100,000 points for his race result, then that would be justified. And of course Red Bull ...

I have to agree. Over the years the bias towards Hamilton has slowly been shifting. There is just a handful of loyal Lewis fans left. In general they are very vocal though.

Re: Has any team ever fallen harder than Aston??
I once read that the bigger teams have two development teams, one headed by their "big brain" to build next year's car, and one headed by the heir of the throne to develop the current car.
Could it be that their development team just sucks and that they will build another brilliant car next year?

Let's also not forget the enormous amount of drivers that have received a penalty for not adhering to the maximum lap time.
The pattern seems to be that the stewards preferably do not give penalties at all.

To be fair to Russel. In my opinion they asked him the wrong question. They asked him something along the lines of "Can you keep going for another 5 laps?" instead of "Will going for another 5 laps cost you a lot of time?"

Re: The Official Sir Lewis Hamilton thread
So, any thoughts on FIA (re)investigating Hamilton crossing the track at Qatar? Surely a safety issue that merits a few points rather than a measly fine, I should think. Did he get off easy or is FIA pushing matters? I read he got a 50.000 USD fine and an official reprimand. I would say that's plen...

After seeing how the event notes got ignored last week, I am not too surprised that Verstappen got away with this. Apparently the FIA creates rules so the stewards can ignore them.

Re: The illustrious five second penalty
If a drive-through is seen as too harsh (when have we last seen one of those??), would something like a 10s period of VSC speed be a alternative (if somehow implemented safely)? I think that would be difficult to implement safely. I had thought about disabling the driver's DRS for a number of laps....

Personally I prefer the drive through. It feels a more fitting punishment and has the benefit of actually putting a driver down the order to they actually lose something. I agree, 5 seconds are reasonable for track limit violations and very minor offences. The drive through is effectively a 30 seco...

The illustrious five second penalty
After the race at Monza I spent a good amount of time pondering over whether the instances we have seen the five second penalty being applied to, were desirable. It seems to me as if the five second penalty is being used as the standard punishment for any on-track misbehaviour, and in my personal op...
