Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
I thought it was about maintaining dignity in adversity and not casting aspersions when things don't go your way? Your casting aspersions when you don't know the truth. What truth would that be? Look, I'm elaborating on what Clouseau wrote. You can dress it up how you want but if Lewis learned to c...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
This has the Schumacher Japan 2006 feeling to it, clawed his way back into a WDC, just about to take the lead again and BOOM. Lewis did make a good start, in fact both Mercedes' which was nice to see and might give a little hope for Lewis' WDC chances. The stacking of Engines is now a blessing too. ...

Re: Austrian GP Qualifying and Race Thread
So, if I understand what the FIA stewards have said they believe happened, Rosberg committed the same offence today as the one that Schumacher lost all of his points and championship results for in 1997? I can only think they came down harder because it was the title deciding race? Surely, they're ...

Re: Hamilton vs rosberg. Part 265
This incident was 100% Nico's fault. Rather than be overtaken he would have crashed both of them out. It's the same mentality that led to what we saw in Barcelona. Nico has a lot of you guys fooled. He's pretty ruthless. I agree he's ruthless but just not very good at it. Well he kinda is good at i...

Re: Hamilton vs rosberg. Part 265
I was always against such moves to force other cars off the track at a corner, but it has become established practice in the Mercedes team. Nico has to be allowed to do the same thing within the team. Maybe the team will now establish that from now on, they are not permitted to force each other off...

Re: Hamilton vs rosberg. Part 265
Regarding Nico's tactic. It was dirty but it was his only play, he had already lost the race. Even by holding position he was toast on the run down to the next corner because Lewis had DRS and was going to run a cut back wide line and easily take the lead. Nico's only tactic at that point was to fo...

Re: Hamilton vs rosberg. Part 265
The entry point was Rosberg's fault. But Hamilton's re-entry to the track and hitting Rosberg looks wrong too. They didn't touch when Hamilton re-joined. Taking a line to prevent someone re-joining the track is the worst part of this for me. Very unsportsmanlikes from Rosberg. Basically, Rosberg th...

Re: Austrian GP Qualifying and Race Thread
Wasn't the investigation (and, I assume, the penalty) for continuing with a damaged car? Why is everyone acting like the stewards were investigating the accident itself? I can understand the discussion here focusing on the incident, but why is the discussion of the investigation/penalty focusing on...

Re: Austrian GP Qualifying and Race Thread
Well I would be surprised if the stewards say he deliberately crashed and didn't disqualify him. So a 10 second penalty (if confirmed) would indicate to me the stewards feel it was either deliberately trying to force Hamilton wide, or just a mistake. A deliberate crash would surely have to result i...

I think it is safer if I refrain from voting for now. :D (I have just taken another look at the accident, and measured the distance between Rosberg's car and the outside of the track, at the moment the outside car drives over the inside car's wing...) You used to be a voice of reason on this forum ...

Re: Austrian GP Qualifying and Race Thread
I am hearing that Rosberg had trouble with his brakes. That resulted in pushing Hamilton off if that was the case. Then Hamilton came back on track and walloped into the side of Rosberg causing more damage. Is Rosberg to blame for Hamilton coming back on the track hitting Rosberg and causing far mo...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread

In total contrast to all other drivers who have commented so far - their opinions are the track looks to be one of the most challenging on the calendar and appears unsafe in a few pl...

F1 cars do not accelerate on a full wet track with slicks on, the moment Dan went off the dry line he was never going to pass. Anyone thinking Mercedes want Nico to win over Lewis needs to watch some of the team interviews. No bias there at all. Lewis has just had a lot of bad luck so far, maybe his luck has changed today. I think any talk of that should die down now with Mercedes issuing team orders despite their "no team...
