Send all the cars out at staggered equal intervals, and have them spread out and running to a delta, increasing it gradually to help clear the water, once track dry enough, bring out safety car for a lap to bunch them back up and then have a normal SC start.

Re: 2021 Belgian Grand Prix Race Thread
What I can't understand is why they din't run the cars under a VC for a few laps, the problem seemed to be the bunched up cars, they all cleared the spray, but due to the slow SC by the time they got back round it was just as bad, perhaps they could have asked the cars to space out and run to a del...

Sam Collins suspects Mercedes were protecting a genuine PU problem for Hamilton today. qrQqcxc5Mc0 30:45 Sam Collins is sooo observant, on discussing the Gio crash, he talks about the investigation into how the front wheel and brakes came away from the car and collided with Rus, when clearly you ca...

If it was having a laugh at his religion, something we have free choice in, then it would be bullying behaviour, being against Islam does not make you a racist, in fact in open society you have the right to decry and criticise any religion, as religion is a free will choice, and anothers choice to ...

The workers were low level IT employees. They made a poll of what day there Muslim co-worker would break his Ramadan fast. Which in and of itself its utterly reprehensible behaviour. I would like to think that no members of our forum, who we hold to a very high standard of behaviour, would attempt ...

David Coulthard: Sainz was perfectly within his rights to let his car drift... David Coulthard: Leclerc will get a penalty for that. Can't imagine why the disparity. Sainz ran Albon wide on the exit of the corner, under acceleration phase, all Albon had to do was not accelerate to stay safe, Lecler...

Re: Is Sebastian Vettel a Top-Ten All-Time Great?
The same logic could have been applied to Schumacher in his last years in F1; since he's not even beating Rosberg who himself is far from a top ten driver then Schumacher doesn't belong on the list. Schumacher had to be considered past his prime being 40+ years and out of F1 for 3 years, Vettel is ...

Is there ANYONE here who is willing to step up and claim that it diminished Michael Schumacher's accomplishments when he was beaten three years running by a young Nico Rosberg??? I don't think it's fair to say that it diminished Schumi's achievements, particularly considering what we now know about...

Re: 2016 Official Canadian Race Thread
Also from Channel 4's race highlights, why does David Coulthard think that in the incident in turns 1&2 on lap 1, Hamilton is "...absolutely within his rights to take the line." when he's got a car completely alongside, front wheel to front wheel on the inside of turn 2? Are they re-writing the rul...

Re: 2015 Japan GP Race thread
that has to be the worst bit of directing from the camera guys on any GP in a long time, how long did they focus on the 'battle for 12th' lap after lap of following a non event, not even a points finish, shocking!! Anyone would think Perez' Mum was the one doing the directing.

I was thinking that after seeing him this weekend, he was very chipper, full of wise cracks, I thought to myself, theres a guy who knows what his future holds, I'm thinking WEC AND Top Gear. when his engineer asked him to go through a plethora of options, and watch his tyre temp, Jenson replies "sho...

Re: F1 drivers and "developing the car" skills
Drivers like Hamilton and Schumacher have the ability to drive round problems and still be fast, that's not good for development engineers because the it can mask problems. This is not really true . Re: F1 drivers and "developing the car" skills
The driver is important in developing the car - but he is not the primary factor as "experts" would have you believe. The driver is relied on to provide feedback (for car setup), turn in consistent laps during testing, and describe handling changes when new components are bolted on. The fundamental...

Re: F1 drivers and "developing the car" skills
Why would they employ test drivers such as de la Rosa if the drivers have no developing skills? Actually Pedro is a good example, he has two great abilities, one he is consistent, he will drive the car the same way each lap, he may not be the fastest, but he is a 'known benchmark' for the engineers...

Two great posts from Ennis and Banana Man. T he only thing we should be discussing is the use of such a vehicle to recover a car. The rest of the debate is a complete over reaction at the moment. If Bianchi hadn't crashed this would have been seen as hundreds of other such incidents and not even me...

the double points thing would have been better if they had introduced a 'joker' for any driver to nominate one race weekend and receive double points i.e. at some point before qualifying a driver would 'play his joker' if he thought he had a good chance of winning, but he could only nominate one rac...

Re: Fernando Alonso backs Lewis Hamilton's move to Mercedes
Hamilton won't have #1 status at the start, i doubt Alonso did either, but he knows he can achieve it if he consistently puts the manners on his teammate, just like Alo did with Massa, with Macca that is unlikely to happen. The problem is McLaren do everything by the numbers, including managing thei...

It's a negotiating tactic, make out something important to the other party, but trivial is REALLY important to you, then use it as a bargaining tool, saying something like......'ok then Ron £100M, plus allowing me to use my own sponsors, and less promo work, if I let you keep the trophies? OK Done.....
