What's the point of having rain tires if they can't even qualify during normal rain conditions? If I wanted to watch a sport with zero risk, I would tune in to curling. Perhaps F1 drivers should be paid like curling players?

Re: Was Ferrari infringing on the technical directive before
I get the impression that Ferrari lost something but it wasn't necessarily pure horsepower. They were still fast in the speed traps at Abu Dhabi and vettel had fastest times in sectors 1 and 2 in qualifying. It was the twisty third sector where they were slow both in quali and the race. Looking back...

Re: 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread
Regarding the Ferrari crash, it has to be on Vettel. He moved across. I've got to say though that the contact was very slight and it's unfortunate for those involved that it resulted in so much damage. Several drivers made moves today that easily could have resulted in crashes and it was mostly down...

They were consecutive races, and very recent, so I don't see how that is so "unique". If I only picked them in a Fibonacci sequence or something, then that would be different. I just want to say the only thing that really counts are consistent performances in calendar seasons. Why? There were no ma...

But that is exactly the point, if he is happy with top 5 finishes he is doing brilliant I just said that he isn't happy to finish anything lower than 1st. The one chink in his armor used to be a lack of consistency. Many people said that he is fast enough, but too wild and erratic to win a WDC. He ...

With 10 laps to go, Lewis was 7.5 seconds in front of Valteri. He had a bunch of lapped cars to get through in that moment but then Valteri would eventually have to go through that traffic himself. I honestly think it's very unlikely that Valteri would have won the race had Lewis stayed out. Closin...

If you watch the Ferrari's and Mercs were trying to get past but the track was blocked. That was only for a short moment. There was plenty of time to get around slow cars. I much prefer this idea than going to a "Playoff" system like Nascar and the NHRA have gone to. This I totally agree with. I don't think it's a coincidence that Nascar began losing popularity right after introducing the play-off system. They have since doubled down several times making the rules ev...

I've presented a pretty simple solution to deal with the chaos of the first corner, and that is to simply hold your line and don't switch lines through turn 1 if you aren't clear of the pack. Kimi didn't do this even though it is common sense to do this and other drivers did this, so he is at fault...

Carlos Sainz is quietly having a great season
I haven't been following drivers standings that closely this season, but I just noticed that with 58 points Calros Sainz is by far the "best of the rest" and in 7th place in the WDC. His teammate, Lando Norris, currently sits at 24 and the next driver after Sainz is Kvyat with only 33. It hasn't bee...

When it comes to Max's mistakes, he made a few over his time in F1, including last season, but a certain point last year they stopped. Since then he has accumulated 21 straight top 5 finishes. He has turned from a fast driver into a fast and consistent one.

No radical idea is needed. Just remove the dependence on aero by mandating small and simple wings. It will allow cars to follow closely and overtake without DRS assistance. DRS could then be reduced in scope or even eliminated entirely at some tracks.
