Re: What are your top 5 Formula 1 races of all time?

In terms of being retained in my memory (yes, I'm a Brit, and support my countrymen!): Adelaide 1986. Silverstone 1987 Adelaide 1994. Brazil 2008. Canada 2011. Yours is a perfect list in my view; although my memories were slightly different for the first one; up all night at a party, watching the r...

Re: How would you improve the TV experience?

What I do want AC/DC Thunderstruck playing during the warmup lap, in the same way that Radio-5 used to do. Better camera angles that help show just how fast the cars are going. Ghost laps. Showing side by side laps on the Sky pad is ok, but proper ghost laps would be better. Useful data onscreen; g...

Re: Blue flag rules

I think the blue flags are fair enough, but the car behind should be closer before they are initiated, at the moment it seems as soon as the leader gets within sight of the backmarker they are waving blue flags and the guy practically has to stop to let them catch up so as to avoid a penalty. Espec...

The Jackie Stewart quote sounds very much like Swiss Tony from the fast show.

Re: New Qualifying Format Poll

As for the suggestion to allow drivers to finish their laps: doesn't this just push back the cutoff time with one lap? Doesn't really make too much of a difference imo, they will need to do comparable calculations and the effect will be pretty much the same. It allows a driver that is about to be e...

Re: New Qualifying Format Poll

As it currently stands its pretty damn abysmal. My preference would be to revert to the previous system, but if I had to "fix" it I would... Re: The Safety Car/Restarts

Anyone else really sick and i mean completely fed up with the Safety Car procedure which is constantly robbing us of 3-4 laps racing every time it comes out? Of course leave it out until it's safe to go racing but the lapped car business is just ridiculous. Brundle nailed it on the head suggesting ...

Re: UPD: Ricciardo DSQ for breach of fuel flow limit, RB app

F1 seems to have moved away from being a pure sport and to see how far man can push the boundaries and evolved into a showcase for technology which may be used in other applications. I don't know exactly when that happened but I don't really understand why that should be the case. I suspect the rea...

Re: UPD: Ricciardo DSQ for breach of fuel flow limit, RB app

Sounds like RBR complied with the intent of the rules but the FIA's crappy sensors werent accurate enough, and if RBR followed the FIA's sensors and recommendations they would have been sitting ducks. Anyway the most alarming thing about all this to me is that races could be decided based on the va...

Re: Mate of mine did a bit of work at RB HQ last week (pic)

such a shame there is so many generic Santander trophies. I know, it's not enough for FOM and the sponsors to be happy with sponsoring all the billboards and podium gubbins, the trophy itself can't just be a design largely devoid of commercial consideration. It's a real shame and as far as I can re...

Re: Safety Car: Backmarker idea

My suggestion is to allow them to fall to the back of the grid, but adjust the lap count for those cars so they have not "lost" another lap. As they have not completed the lap they are still carrying the fuel for it. This fuel weight will give them a slight weight disadvantage which they will have t...

I thought that last year they could only dealy when DRS was turned back on after a safty car. This rule change would allow them to do it at any time.
