Re: Juan Pablo Montoya to Penske Racing (Indycar)

Too bad he couldn't win the Daytona 500 but the prospect of him being able to be competitive again is very good. Maybe he can become the first to hit a jet dryer in both Daytona 500 and Indy 500. One thing's for sure, he's going to hit something...

Massa talking too much?

Since his firing, Massa's been talking a lot -- maybe too much for his own good? Says he won't race for Alonso anymore and is out for himself = ticking off Ferrari and inviting them to mess with his car / strategy / head Talks openly about being in talks with McLaren = potentially ticking off McLare...

Lotus sign Ferrari's head of aerodynamics

This is getting comical... Ferrari took Lotus' aero head, now Lotus take Ferrari's.

SOURCE

maybe soon FIA will sign Ecclestone and FOM will sign Todt.

Maybe people can't be compared as simply as "Vinny is better than Luigi" like that's a permanent and all-encompassing condition.

Never mind the past, right now they can't depend on Massa and Raikkonen seems better.

I'm more a fan now because he made a proud bigwig like LdM take him back after firing him, that was about as likely as Ben Hur returning as a Consul's son after being sent to the galleys.

They should start selling "beer float" Magnums in gorilla wrappers in honor of this.

Slightly faster is worthless when the car blows up, gets hung up in the pits, or had an engine change.

That was 2007. Both Hamilton and Massa made a mess of 2008. Hamilton won because he made slightly less of a mess of it. was that '07? my mistake. edited out. but the difference in the reliability of their cars is too often overlooked, Hamilton had a nearly perfect car while Massa had two engines bl...

Re: What does a race engineer do exactly?

A race engineer tells the driver which lap to crash on, thereby engineering the race. He's also responsible for occasional pit-to-car talk to entertain the TV audience and mislead the other teams. Other than that, he pretty much just has to sit in a chair watching TV and look ticked off when his dri...

Na he didn't. The Spa win was a joke and had Massa won the WDC it would have been tainted. He drove well, but he didn't deserve it more. Without derailing this, just as an aside, there's no question Hamilton gained advantage by cutting that corner and the rule talks about gaining advantage, not goi...

He deserved the championship over Hamilton that year, and I'm not sure he's had another real chance at a championship, but they did give him 4 more years and all he did was prove he's lost it. Why would Ferrari pay off Alonso to re-hire Raikkonen? The car is the problem, not the driver. also, why would they want both Alonso and Raikkonen? They'd just take points off each other. This is just someone's way of making some advertising money while they know answers won't come for a few weeks.

Stopping on track after the race because of fuel = No Points

That's how it should be. Why are they allowing these antics, if you're so low on fuel you can't be sure of making it back to the Parc and still having enough for a sample, then you were cheating in the race running lighter than the others for an advantage. The FIA now estimates if there was actually...

Sounds like face-saving PR to me, "Massa didn't end Massa's race, the car did." Even in 2008 he spun himself off...
