Re: Alonso and Button confirmed for 2015

Am I the only one disappointed to hear this? Jenson just like Webber, Barrichello and many drivers before them is one of the veteran "good but nothing special" drivers. I would much rather see Magnussen have a second season or a fresh rookie that could be a real new talent have a chance. We all know...

Re: Let's compare Red Bull "dominance" with Mercedes

Surely the reason for these dominant seasons is the restrictions on testing. If you consider as you increase the amount of time testing the amount of advantage gained from upgrades will decrease logarithmicly. If there was more testing it would lessen the gap between teams.

I would be surprised if it would be Sony amid many rumors of their bankruptcy. Sony are really not in a position right now to be spending money on something like F1 sponsorship.

Re: Was it broke, did it need fixing?

It's mind boggling. 2007 and 2008 were some of the most exciting years yet the FIA decided it was necessary to fiddle the regs (not just technical regs but also the point system) and ever since then we've had Vettel winning everything. When things are good why can't they just leave it alone? The spo...

Re: Would Robert Kubica have been WDC?

I don't think he was nearly as impressive as is made out. He clearly had talent but he really didn't show anything that suggested he was certain to win a WDC. Remember that in his only win he showed the same pace as Nick Heidfeld who was ordered to move out the way and let him through due to a heavi...

I think it's delusional to think that all of the current top drivers would remain that but in a different order. I would honestly think it would be something mostly random e.g:
1. Hulkenberg
2. Alonso
3. Rosberg
4. Grosjean

From when I started watching: 2008 - Amazing, best on track action, close championship 2009 - Bad, even after Brawn domination stopped it was still a dull season and it made it even more obvious how carried Button was by the car seeing him failing when the advantage was lost 2010 - Great, on track a...

Re: Anybody else hate the current qualifying format?

This format was only really relevant when refuelling existed. It was unpredictable when fuelling changed the outcome of Q3 and thus Q2 was interesting as it showed true pace as everyone was on the same fuel load. Now there's literally no reason to watch Q1/Q2 and all but the last 2 mins of Q3. It's ...

Hamilton is a racer. He likes to go wheel to wheel with other drivers and the current format barely allows any real wheel to wheel racing. I think Nico at this point is better in that Mercedes. The problem isn't that Hamilton is slower, just that Nico has been in a Mercedes for 3 years now - he's clearly better suited to the car. I also think that Hamilton is being overcautious because he feels less confident at Merc than Mclaren. He h...

Massa is the best starter on the grid anyway imo. He always makes progress, at least until the first corner. In 07/08 Kimi made the Ferrari look pretty average off the start whereas Massa almost always made up places (Hungary 2008 being the best of them).

My main problem with the look of the current cars is how long and flat the nose is, looks a lot better when the nose curves down at the end. And the stepped noses are just horrible, ruins the Caterham.

It is the FIAs fault. F1 was more competitive before they got rid of refuelling and aero because there were more factors involved. Vettels pole and drive away strategy would be screwed or at least a ton more difficult if lighter fueled cars were ahead of him on the grid. In addition the FIA has been...
