Re: A solution for visor tear-offs?

High pressure air jets built into the Halo. Quite literally a windshield. Or a physical windshield, ala Indy. Engineered well, just the velocity of passing air would keep the cockpit and driver quite clean. F1 did used to have windshields.

Of course, gloves could be put to use.

Re: Audi in F1 - what does that mean to you?

Imo, it goes back to when Audi was dominating the endurance racing. When asked of Audi back then, they maintained they would only be working on one series. Enter now the Porsche hypercar to debut in 2023, it makes some sense to see the Audi marque in F1. Audi is capable of developing entire cars wit...

Return to single car quali of three laps per entry. The duration of quali would be about the same (20 cars x 3 laps). No one in the way, quickest car and driver sits on the pole. A lot of really stiff setting going on there but they need to balance that out a bit. A lot of drift and then skating under braking. Speaking of ooopsies, the course workers just don't seem to be quite on the ball.

Petronas running really stiff today, watch those walls.

He had a wee smile after answering that but I'm sure the nuance will be lost and he'll be taken to task for it as if he actually really meant he'd headbutt someone. The only real trouble on many US circuits would be adding garages attached to the pits. Hence, Austin built to suit. A city circuit more easily amended vs the autodrome arenas of Nascar (tri)ovals. Sonoma, Watkins Glen, Sebring and Daytona have all been scoped out for F1 use. Some of the road course...

Hamilton is certainly no saint and that has stuck with him since his early seasons. He has pulled some incredibly bone head moves over the years. In an interview a day or so ago more or less showing compassion for Kvyat. Hamilton charged a corner where the line was already occupied. Simple as that.
