Re: So, is Hamilton Racing this Weekend?

I’d have liked to seen George in the Merc again this weekend but it wasn’t to be. I think in a way this is better for George’s reputation that he doesn’t race for merc this weekend. He absolutely smashed it last week. I think he’d do well again at Abu Dhabi but say he had a mediocre weekend. Toto wo...

What were Merc doing??

I think there testing George in every scenario

Good start check
Lead the race comfortably check

Let’s see if he can race in the pack 😅

I’ll be gutted if he doesn’t win

If the race does restart wouldn’t they be better doing a rolling start instead of standing restart so there’s less chance of something like that happening again.

Turns 1,2 and 3 are asking for trouble in the mid pack

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

All getting a bit odd now, I really think all eyes are focussed on why Verstappen isn't a WDC. Take a step back and consider this. If Ferrari had a Honda engine in it this year Verstappen would be battling Leclerc to get on the podium. Why does everyone fall over MV and ignore CL. Its as though he ...

Re: Austria '20 Hamilton/Albon

It would be great to see Albon’s onboard footage which for whatever reason hasn’t been produced yet. It seems to me Albon had more room on his left to use which he didn’t. I think it’s a clear cut racing incident which considering the new mantra was meant to be ‘let them race’ I’m surprised that was...

Some people don't want to believe the burned bridge theory of why Alonso can't get a top seat in F1 and put it down to the lack of desire of the top teams to have two #1 drivers, however it looks like it's cost him a top seat for this years Indy 500. https://racer.com/2020/02/02/honda-vetoes-alonso...

I don’t think there was actually a yellow flag after Bottas crashed. Which is again poor from Masi Yes there was. I was writing this when it was live at the time and there wasn’t any yellows shown on the track side boards or on the main feed until after the session had finished. Which made you thin...

I thought Merc would be better this year in Mexico because they have a good high downforce package. I’d expect Ferrari to struggle with Merc and Red Bull leading the way It's not really about downforce. It's a combination of the heat and the thin air at high altitude. You can expect the same coolin...

Re: Leclerc penalised 15 seconds after Japan race

I’m all for more lenient penalties when it comes to racing but this was just idiotic from Leclerc. The FIA have set a low bar. I’ve not been that impressed by Masi so far. Same here. From what I can see Massi's let them race ethos is more a case of him sitting on the fence and hoping everything tur...

I actually think the 10 second bit is a really inconsistent penalty. We have seen drivers continue with damaged cars for years and I can't recall anyone getting penalised for it. His debris nearly struck Hamilton on the helmet, it also damaged Hamiltons cars sidepod wings. Loose bodywork, you usual...

You’re right Blake that the car is the biggest factor but it’s not that simply when it’s close. The reason it doesn't have complex aero parts on the body is they are trying to generate more downforce from underneath the car so cars can follow more closely. There's a 19% increase in downforce in this area compared to this years aero kit http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/130905/indycar...

I think a budget cap would be a good idea to try and level things up a bit more but I wouldn't include drivers salaries into that as I think midfield teams are more likely to go for pay drivers than spend some of their budget on a better quality driver. Take Force India for example, they have a budg...
