Re: Indycar at Road America
Rossi's Indy Car contract is up. I'd like to see him on a competitive F1 team.

Re: Indy500
Rossi should have won the race going away. The 20+ sec pit stop, being held-up by lapped cars and then the unlucky yellow flags. Still it was a great race! Sorry F1, but Indy Car has the best open wheel racing in motorsports, at a fraction of the cost.

Re: those that are indycar AND formula 1 fans, Best drivers?
I watched both races yesterday, back to back. Arguing which series has the best drivers is foolish. I will say from watching the inboard shots, it's pretty apparent that the Indy drivers are working harder.

Re: Indycar - Barber
Seems that it was very much a strategy race. A lot of gambling on tires and pit strategy. I kept wondering if Sebastian Bourdais had made the right call going with a two stop strategy. It was good to see that the full course caution pretty much evened out everything and then they all raced to the c...

Re: F1 is boring
There's a few things F1 could learn from Indycar. More pit stops equal more drama, especially when you add fuel usage to the calculations. More parity between the teams equals better racing. I'm not talking about a spec series, but a financial cap would help even the field. Look at it this way. If F...

It's a dumb rule, but the teams are aware of the rule. The announcers were warning that Rossi and Powers were taking a chance staying out. Nevertheless, the racing was exciting. I thought the announcing team was far superior than the toads at Sky Sports. So as soon as a competitor(s) pits you have ...

Re: F1 is boring
I wasn't fond of the end as Alex Rossi is the local homegrown hero. The race itself was exciting. Not just the overtaking, which there was plenty, but the strategy on tires, fuel and track position kept you paying attention. F1 has faster cars, spends a lot more money and elite drivers, but Indycar ...

There is not much racing going on in F1. Instead of 1st & 2nd separated by a few tenths of seconds, Bottas had almost a half minute cushion. He could of stopped in the pits and had a brew and still won! There wasn't much going on in the mid-field either. As it is, the best passing takes place in th...

So far from the current testing results it looks like the new Renault PU may deliver as promised. Wouldn't it be karma if both McLaren and Renault leapfrog RB. As far as race win, I'd love to see DR win one for Renault!

Could the announcing team be any worse?
I certainly appreciate being able to watch the race uninterrupted by commercial breaks, but announcers have to be the worst I've listened to in any sport. They drone on and on, trying to impress the world with their knowledge, but never talk about what we are actually watching. The post race intervi...

Re: 2018 British Grand Prix Race Thread
Hamilton is [ so rude], Always has been and always will be. He chocked the start and let both Seb and Val by. Kimi tried to follow suit and ran out of room. They touched and Lewis spun. That's racing. There's two teams fighting for the top. It's only natural while fighting for position there will be...

This idea is purely marketing. How about rotating safety cars? Give all the sponsors a chance. Let's have a Mercedes. Ferrari, Aston and Alfa lead the pack! What about Renault, Honda, FIAT, McLaren, Volvo, JCB, TATA, Infiniti, Mitsubishi? (OK JCB is taking the mick but they do hold a land speed rec...

Re: F1 needs faster safety cars!
I'd be in favour of stopping the race. I've no idea why they all drive around at a snails pace behind a safety car, when they might as well just stop. Either a VSC/FCY or throw a red flag. Everyone comes into the pits (parc ferme unless proven damage), the marshals can clear all the debris in perfe...

Grosjean and Magnussen are both clearly faster than the likes of Hartley, Ericsson, Sirotkin, Stroll, Wehrlein, Rossi, etc. - and most of them make as much mistakes as Grosjean does. Whether Vandoorne or Gasly would be a match for Grosjean is unlcear at best as well - too early to tell. Grosjean is...

No pre-race or post race coverage. Boring commentary and no interviews from the pits. Also, how come we hear so much from Hamilton's radio and so little from everyone else. This type of coverage is certainly not going to increase F1's popularity in the USA.

Re: Daytona 500
NASCAR has very simple strategy. If you’re behind someone, get in his draft and pass. If you can’t pass, give him a little bump and watch him, in your rearview mirror, spin and wipe out half of your competition. If you’re in the lead, let your teammate do the dirty work. If you need to pit, tell you...

Why does Lotus F1 have so much trouble finding sponsorship?
Even with their limited funds they seem to be able to put together one of the fastest cars on race day. If I were king of the world Renault would buy Lotus cars and go back to being the primary sponsor of Lotus/Renault F1! With Lotus/Renault cars they could market mid-level (Elise/Exige), high end (...

You can put lipstick on a pig and it’s still a pig. Allowing teams to negotiate and sign contracts with the competition’s employees, during the season, creates a huge conflict of interest! The history of F1 may be full of scandals, backstabbing and treachery, but that doesn’t make it right. Nor is i...
