Re: 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
Ferrari won't allow Raikkonen to stay out a bit longer for an overcut. That's understandable, given Hamilton is close behind. But the trouble is Bottas is closing in quickly given Vettel problem.

Re: 2017 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread
RAI managed to build a decent lead over VET during the early part of the race, then VET manage to close it down to 1.5-2sec. A pair of backmarkers further bogged down RAI-VET so much so BOT was getting closer. I think RAI was mostly dejected with the timing of his pitstop. He wanted to pit earlier, ...

Re: Vettels post race rant to Kyvat
The only reason Vettel was so upfront was because he felt Marchionne was breathing down his neck.
Vettel should've simply kept his line on the inside, and incident averted - this is the easiest option.

The luckiest guy there must be Vettel. He was invisble all race long and still ends up on the podium. He had taken back fifth from Raikkonen on merit. He was great in the rain. How is that luck? Perfect timing for inters, thats lottery and luck. He overtook Raikkonen before either of them were on i...

He's on more or less similar pace with Ricciardo (who was behind him before the 1st stop). So in theory, with more proactive pitstops, he probably should've finished at around 7 or 8 place.

Kimi's tyre was 10 lap older. I'm interested to know from strategy point of view, which one is faster: 3 stopper or 2 stopperBlake wrote:Am I the only one that notice Alonso open a big gap over Kimi after he got past? I think one can legitimately claim that Alonso was held up behind Kimi.

average 1 to 1.2 sec/lap slower than Alonso.. even in clear air. must have hurt inside, this Raikkonen. he and his side of the garage must get up to speed pretty quickly to avoid embarrassment and disappointment into the much hyped Alonso/Raikkonen inter-team tussle this year

Without Raikkonen's points, Lotus wouldn't have a sniff at 2nd or 3rd place as it is now. I mean only Vettel has more points than Merc/Ferrari/Lotus in their battle for 2nd/3rd WCC place. Not even Alonso's point would've secure 2nd/3rd place for Lotus by himself - if we put his points instead of Rai...

He's improved a lot with his spatial awareness and consistency. He always has the speed, he won championship at lower level. Now i'll expect him to be at or better than Rosberg level. His 2nd half performance this season has been impressive. Need to get that important 1st GP win

He's just frustrated to be so low down the grid. He and Bottas were generally not far off each other this year.

Ah, slight typo there on my part. I mean't, of course, the WCC, not the WDC  But in my defence i thought my argument would have been obvious from the context - did you think I was talking about the WDC? Then it wouldn't have made any sense. I can only assume Prema was talking about 2013, whi...
