Re: Did 2014 feature an outstanding level of driving?
With Ricciardo and Hamilton dominating the "Driver of the Year Poll" in the polls sub forum, it makes me wonder whether this year has seen the level of driving at an exceptionally high level. There have been some years where it has been difficult to pick a top 5, 2011 for instance, where Vettel was...

But with all that done and said Guia. The article was written before Hamilton's side of the garage began demonstrating the sort of reliability Rosberg had been enjoying. The converse is also true, and hence there were doubts - answered now, but pertinent questions at the time. The article was written before Mercedes got to grips with th...

I'm amazed Jenson spoke out like that. But I don't doubt for a second that he is right. I do it, so does this make me a "real fan" or not? Nico Rosberg's DNF in Singapore I cheered as he failed to get off the start line. It is quite natural. Though that doesn't mean it's nothing to be ashamed of. Rooting for a favourite, one welcomes any turn of events which spell success for that cau...

They had to use the 2012 Lotus presumably because the 2014 one couldn't keep up with the truck. Testing Rules, cars that have raced in the last 2 years are limited on how much they can run it. Anything further back they can do what they please. Ah, but they can use the 2014 car on filming days and ...

I don't think 'Bitter' is the right word described. Certain people have a bias against Alonso. It's not the OP's first misleading thread title. The OP has simply done a copy-and-paste with the headline from the linked article. My gripe with that has to do with plagiarism, although many will go furt...

I'm on Alonso's side on this one. He was the one who decided to leave Ferrari because the team could not deliver a competitive package. That is a slap in the face for Ferrari, but true. So Mattiacci tries to save face by implying that Alonso was not the right person for the team, maybe even respons...

Just cruise to second! He claims that never in his life has he aimed for 2nd place - that it's antithetical to his mindset, that he wouldn't know how. How about Brabham in 1969? After back-to-back title successes in '66 and '67, Brabham managed just two podiums and three points finishes in 1968. This was chiefly down to the horrendous reliability of the Repco V8 which saw Jochen Rindt and Jack Brabham score 19 DNFs on their way to 12th and 23rd re...

There is no canopy. There never was any canopy. We have entered the realm of entirely imaginary things. There never was any canopy on a Lotus 72 but you might want to investigate the 1967 German Grand Prix and the pair of Frank Costin designed, Mike Costin powered and Ron Harris owned and run Proto...
