Re: F1, Racism & BlackLivesMatter
Most people all over the world, including in the USA, do genuinely feel for and support black lives. George Floyd's death brought the country together if only for a few days with similar statements expressing horror and anguish from both political parties. America is simply not as racist a country a...

Re: Forum opinion on Vettel/Hamilton incident
To me, the first incident is accidental/racing incident. Lewis himself said he did slow down to some extent, so there is that, but I believe the stewards/FIA when they say he didn't brake test Vettel. Vettel had the greater responsibility as the following car. If you plow into the guy in front of yo...

Re: 2017 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread
This (Rockie's post)! And the one before by mikeyg123! Ferrari had no way of knowing the backmarker Vettel was following would pit soon after Kimi pitted. Kimi was slow prior to the pit stop and I do remember thinking that it was a bit strange not to push right up behind Button as soon as possible. ...

I'm totally shocked by this, it puts slowgate on the back pages now, I didn't realise how much it meant to him and how much it took out of him to win the title, a life times ambition achieved and that's the extent of what he wanted, given that It's nice to see he achieved it. I probably wanted Nico to win this WDC more than anyone else on this forum, but there's nothing wrong with what Lewis did, even if it took several years off my lifespan. I'm in a similar position and agree that he did nothing wrong on track. Off track though, his attitude has in the past and has co...

I actually read about it before watching the race and when I watched the race I thought was "that all he did". I thought Nico was going to be running with a couple of tenths of Hamilton for multiple laps. He only got into DRS for the last 2 laps. It was very tame. You've also started a thread about...

Re: Seb---Legend or Lucky?
Lucky or legend is opinion based mostly. From my point of view, F1 is not an individual sport. I look more at the characteristics of the driver than numbers. I would think most impartial fans of F1 would like his career to play out first. Till now, he has had one bad year in his career. Other great ...

Well, I'm not a Lewis fan, but after winning both the race and WDC he should at least be a contender for DOTD. It's not that he necessarily raced better than the others but he had the most impact on the narrative. I did vote for him as one of the three (others being Vettel and Verstappen).

I don't think I have ever seen Nico so low Superstars and celebrities are generally self absorbed - a necessity I guess (I am not judging here) Or else I am sure Lewis would have left him alone Don't think he meant anything by it judging by his body language Nico's reaction was spontaneous - frustra...

He is going to get a couple I would think
Ferrari is due to have a great season or two
The FIA is not going to allow an engine dominated formula the next time around

Thanks Zoue Regarding Barichello v Rosberg: As far as I recall, Barichello was regarded as a future WDC candidate and one of the top drivers when he joined Ferrari. Schumacher's return was doomed by the circus tires, lack of sufficient testing and aging. It was not the F1 he knew.
Rosberg v Barichello is an interesting matchup (didn't we have a thread on this?). Too close to call. However, the younger Schumacher who won 7 WDC would have no problem with Rosberg.

Re: Which Driver's Are Currently "Overrated" in F1?
First one must accept the fact that driving in F1 is NOT every American driver's dream. So many F1 fans fail to realize that, just because it is the racing end-all for them, that isn't necessarily the case for everyone else. Many American drivers make as much money as they would in F1 staying at ho...

Not to sound controversial, but Alonso's place in the top 10 of all time isn't as secure in my mind as it seems to be for others. It's certainly not entirely his fault that he hasn't had the kind of dominant cars Vettel and Hamilton have had at various times. But I would say that going back to infer...
