Re: Gonna rain at Spain?
Doesn't look like there is a big chance. GP2 race just finished, and sun is shining in it's glory with few white clouds here and there. But it's still like two and a half hours away.

Re: Hamilton stopping on the track - Excluded from qualifyin
so, if Lewis didn't do any lap in Q3 he would actually start in P7 (or P8), right? what a pathetic fuel rule!!!! Good idea, seems to be the right reasoning. But Hamilton did two outings. Even tough first posted time wasn't good enough for pole, he would perhaps be something like 3-4 on the grid has...

Re: Hamilton stopping on the track - Excluded from qualifyin
Hamilton's reaction: "I’ll never give up and I’ll give it everything. Whatever position I start from, I’ll always race my heart out" Whatever you think about the penalty, the kid's got class. Doesn't question the team or the stewards. Quite a positive change of the tune compared to Singapore (was i...

There is just one single ingredient that will determine his chances: tyres. If his William can handle them well, and his rivals not so well, he has a very realistic chance to give as reply of Monza 2008.

The best view I've only just seen of the Hamilton incident. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC05YfPIBVc The stewards got it right. (Don't wait too long, the Alonso clips have already gone!) Good view. If Hamilton has chosen to overtake from the other side, there wouldn't be a single word about it. T...

Re: How F1 drivers sit
Ridiculous seating position. I remember assembling Ferrari 312T4 from 1979, scale was 1:12. That was a proper sitting position, and driver had great visibility. These days they have lots of blind spots.
But somehow, they are less crash-prone.

Re: Where should Felipe Massa go in 2013?
Lotus would be a super-place to be, as they seem to have a great car and good direction. However, I doubt they will replace their current drivers, and drivers would likely stay, specially if they will win this year which is just around the corner. Negative thing - Bouiler seems erratic chief, and th...

Re: 11 wins, 15 pole positions, 33 podiums
In 2007 Kimi won WDC, Massa was, like, 4th? This is answered above. 2008 Massa got the better of Kimi , but he lost the title arguably due to his many mistakes as well, which was typical of him, he's always been erratic and inconsistent, one day a hero at Hungary, the other rubbish at Silverstone. ...

Worst to win in the last 2 decades? Panis? Irvine? Kovalainen? Panis was a rising star, and Ligier didn't have that good car. Was it not for the terrible accident in Montreal we would see some better stats. Irvine was battling for the championship till the last race in 1999, so he can not be that b...

Gilles Villeneuve to drive for the re-established Wolf F1 Team for 1983. Not a rumor only, Gilles was having a dinner with Walter Wolf between Imola and Zolder, discussing the matters. Some historic stuff here... Never to win: Wolf in 1978 Alfa Romeo in 1982 Renault in 1984 Lotus in 1984 Ligier in 1986 Benetton 1988 (due to Mclaren dominance) Wost to win: Williams in 1983 was best of non-turbos, none the less far behind turbo cars. Yet, Keke won in Monaco. Tyrrell in 1982 and 1983...

Re: If YOU could decide. What would the F1 tyres be like?
F1 needs resetting to the basics: 1. Box is meant to be a place where you FIX the car. Not where your mechanics are racing with others mechanics. 2. Races should be flat out and plain, like in the first decades. No other "strategy" for a race than a speed on the track. 3. Tyres are meant to last and...

Re: Driver fitness in 80 years from Nuvolari to Vettel?
There is one level of fitness rarely discussed these days: training of perception and lightning reaction. Modern day drivers spent their childhood playing video games. IMHO that makes them somewhat better trained in terms of reaction than those from 50's-80's.

Agree, he received a lot of negative vibes due to collision with Hamilton at Spa, but else than that, seems like a perspective driver with a special skill for street racetracks. I expect good result from him in Monaco, Canada and Abu Dhabi.
