WHEELCHAIR ACCESS TO A FORMULA ONE RACE
I am severely disabled as the result of a motorsport injury. I mostly travel solo and need a wheelchair to get around, I drive. Are there any F1 venues, anywhere in the world, where I can access the circuit in my wheelchair and get to a decent viewing position, undercover and well above ground level...

MURRAY WALKER - Mercedes is best F1 Team ever!
On BBC Radio 4 this morning MW said M-B best ever. I’m no fan of MW, but he might be right. Consider the dominance, the time period and also: no cheating, no nominating one driver for maximum points, no ‘magic’ advantage (double diffuser, f-duct, blown diffuser, etc.), no endless testing or wind-tun...

F1 GP ACCESSIBILITY
Does anyone know a GP venue where a wheelchair user, travelling solo, UK-based, can get a good view without buying the Paddock Club entry? I use a power chair or scooter and drive a car with a chair hoist. I want good grandstand seat, under cover with a ‘tactical ‘ view. I have a good budget but not...

Re: Monty has left the building!
Well, he certainly kept up the tradition of Ferrari style to the very end, no definitely not, but yes. So now the Scuderia is run by non-F1 guys and non-racers. We have yet to see anyone make this work. If they can't gat Brawn back what will they do? Perhaps Ferrari-Haas will get a whole new meaning.

1. The concept that leaving the track brings an immediate disadvantage in terms of potential car damage or the need for substantial speed reduction.
2. Free supply rules for tyres. This is a legitimate area for design competition.
3. Single plane front wings.

Re: Hamilton-Rosberg Belgium 2014 Incident Thread (renamed)
The point of avoiding contact early on is to maximise team performance. If you are running one/two the drivers hold position because, especially at Spa, the final outcome can be influenced by mechanical issues, weather and safety cars. If the drivers are still line astern near the end then they figh...

just a small thing to remind: Silverstone is the only GP in the calendar that is not subsidized by the Governement one way or another (USA GP might be another, but it hasn't happened yet). And Bernie is not giving break - evert year payment is increasing in accordance to the current contract. area ...

Re: Apparently Silverstone is utter shambles
How about: hardstanding for every parked car terraced viewing giving enough space for every fan to see a decent panorama of track paddock and pits access of some kind, some time a commitment from drivers to be available to ordinary fans disabled parking that can be accessed when the circuit is very...

Re: Apparently Silverstone is utter shambles
Those reading my earlier post will have gathered I am not a fan of Silverstone. Those watching Sky F1 yesterday afters will have been treated to a film of the '64 GP at Brands Hatch ( now there's a spectator circuit). Much was made of ease of car/ pedestrian entry/exit. The most noticeable thing wa...

Re: Apparently Silverstone is utter shambles
This is not news. All the recent upgrades are for corporates, media, celebs. and the rich (including all those made rich by F1). Ordinary fan? Well, we'll sell you an expensive piece of dirt/mud to park/spectate. No, wait a minute, even tho you have prepaid you can't have it. A real, standout interna...

Re: What kind of engine would YOU prefer in F1 cars?
Many, many years ago Keith Duckworth suggested there should be only one, simple rule......... each car is allowed x litres of fuel for the race. Wouldn't that see some interesting developments? Of course it opens the door for some small, very clever outfit to outwit the grandees, and they don't fanc...

Re: Marko: "Rule Changes Made to Weaken Red Bull"
F1 always has someone like this - "if we aren't winning it's because we are being unfairly treated and/or someone is cheating". It used to be Enzo then Todt/Schumacher, now it's Marko.

Re: Worst decisions in F1?
Writing the regs to stop innovation.
Allowing far too much aero grip and not enough mechanical grip.
Making the circuits 'too safe' removing the penalty for mistakes ( making the cars safe is good, letting drivers run off the circuit with no downside is bad).
Banning the twin chassis Lotus.

Re: Does Ferrari Need New Leadership?
People seem to forget that before Todt, Brawn, Byrne & Schumacher came along Ferrari had been rubbish for years. I don't understand why people expect them to be at the top. The Schumacher era was the anomaly, not the current performance. How many titles did they win in the 80's & 90's? Great minds!...

Re: Does Ferrari Need New Leadership?
It could be argued that Ferrari have only had one good team set-up since 1979 and they achieved that by buying the core of Benneton. They seem to want the Italian home-grown team but that hasn't really worked the early sixties. Maybe their current form is the true reflection of what they can achieve...
