FRENCH GRAND PRIX RESULTS
Having seen the first Perfect Podium of the season last time out in Canada, we now have another three to celebrate after the French Grand Prix! Most people correctly foresaw yet another Mercedes 1-2 finish, but the popular pick to take third - Sebastian Vettel - was off the pace for some reason, and it was his teammate Charles Leclerc who came home in third instead. The winners of this round all called that correctly, and they take the maximum 14 points as a result! Well done,
Remmirath, cm97 and me!
Sadly, last race's Perfect Podium winner clearly drank too much of the Carbon champagne, and was the only entrant to predict against a Mercedes victory at all. A cautionary tale for us all.

Individual Standings - Round Eight
A very high scoring round has shaken things up dramatically:
At the top, Exediron jumps five places to take the lead, benefiting from being the prior points leader among the Perfect Podium winners. Unless I'm mistaken, this is the first time Exediron has ever led the championship after five seasons of competition, so clearly he'll be looking to make it a long stay at the top.
Also inheriting places from the fall of Lotus49 are Jezza13 and Mod Titanium, the pair still separated only by a tiebreaker for most second places. They both sit 4 points shy of the lead. Icemanjee1 also follows them through, a single point behind in fourth position.
In fifth place, we find our leader of a round ago, Lotus49. Failing to predict a Mercedes 1-2 has cost him, and he now sits 6 points off the lead he until-so-recently occupied. In sixth place is Jenson's Understeer, moving up a place into the position vacated by teammate Exediron. Mox Onyx and Mayhem are seventh and eighth, tiebroken by the most wins in the mod's favor. CarlPotter loses a place and falls to ninth, but remains in the top ten, the last position of which is filled by P-F1 Mod, one of the many to benefit from the missteps of others this round.
Just outside the top ten, we find two of the biggest movers of the round - one positive, one very much not. Tied for biggest positive mover is cm97, jumping up from nineteenth to eleventh place. Just behind is Espo, who falls ten whole spots as the result of a very untimely DNS. JN23 is just behind them in thirteenth position, having moved up two this round. They are followed by the equal-biggest gainer for the round, Remmirath, who also benefited from a Charles Leclerc fueled Perfect Podiun. In fifteenth, mcdo is tied with Remmirath on points, but lacks the all-important PP.
In positions sixteen to twenty, we have Charles LeBrad - who loses six places on account of scoring no points this round - followed by coulthard's chin and Herb, both of whom remain in their previous places of seventeenth and eighteenth. RustyRockets44 falls from thirteenth to nineteenth on account of a failed gamble on Max Verstappen to win the race, and is followed by robins13, who bet on Bottas.
At the back, Mod Blue remains in twenty-first place but has gained ground on the midfield, while Bentrovato slips to twenty-second. With Black_Flag_11 withdrawing from the competition for this season, those are the last active participants.
Team Standings - Round Eight
Changes abound on the team side as well! Defending champions No Limit Excedrin Racing move into the lead, 8 points ahead of Management in Crisis, which falls to second. Mission Copy James, the newly rebranded inheritor team of the Ice & Fire legacy, shoots all the way from 7th to 3rd on the strength of cm97's Perfect Podium.
Outside the top three, we find 2017 champions Jalopy Racing, 4 points to the rear of Mission Copy James. They have swapped places with Lotus-CC Racing (another old name, once the mighty McLotus team before that partnership dissolved); a single point separates the two outfits.
In sixth and seventh, the second mod squad battles it out with Sand Bag'n. The two teams enjoyed (or suffered) mirrored fortunes this round, with one climbing two places and the other falling three so they could meet in the middle. They are tied on wins, tied on points by their leader scorer, and have to be separated by the fourth-string tiebreaker of first win scored (Mayhem, in the season opener). Drive Sauber holds position in eighth, but it's a tale of what might have been. One driver scored a Perfect Podium, but the other posted a costly DNS in a rare high-scoring round.
In the final three positions, Victorious Secret loses ground due to a no-score for Charles Lebrad, falling from sixth to ninth. We The North remain last of the fully staffed teams, slipping back from Victorious Secret. It's a good thing their basketball effort is going better than their racing at the moment, giving the North something to cheer about. The Also Rans - newly a one-man effort - sit last in the standings, albeit by only a single point at the moment.
NEXT RACE
Next up is Austria, a power track and traditionally a weak venue for Hamilton. Can Ferrari finally claim their first win and break the momentum of the Brackley squad? Or will Vettel and Leclerc be found dead by the roadside, pierced by Silver Arrows along with all the others?
