Monza, Italy

The foreshadowed
- All nine entrants this round rightly picked Lewis Hamilton as the quali winner.
- Eight foresaw there would be two race leaders, even though Hamilton only led the one lap when Rosberg pitted.

The unfathomables
Four questions remained unrequited:
- Fernando Alonso, outside the points, went for some other glory and got the fastest lap of the race.
- Kevin Magnussen, despite his low WDC ranking, managed to become the quali victim (-5 places).
- There were no less than five "overachievers" in the top 10 (Rosberg, Vettel, Raikkonen, Bottas and Massa), all with a 1 place improvement. None of us had a clue.
- Romain Grosjean almost made up for his grid penalty on the first lap (+4 places).

Standout predictions of the weekend
- Only Fountoukos13 dared to predict Nico Rosberg as the race winner.
- Remmirath was the only one to predict Felipe Nasr as the first man out.

The win in Monza is shared between Fountoukos13 (a fifth win!), Remmirath (a third!) and TypingChicane (a first, finally!).

Jenson’s Understeer’s lead is cut back to a mere 12. Is Fountoukos13 back in the hunt?
On the other side of the list, Black_Flag_11 forgetting to oracle the 13 answers for Monza, helped theferret to leave the bottom spot, occupied since Bahrain.




After a third of the season, the seventh race (Canada), I reported the points per question that we got right. Now that the season is two thirds underway, here is an update. Some highlights:
- Jenson’s Understeer, Remmirath, robins13 and Herb, all have answered every question right at least once.
- Two player-question combinations have reached double figures already after 14 race weekends: Jenson’s Understeer is a quali surprise oracle, whereas Fountoukos13 is the one to ask if you want to know who’s going to be on pole.
- The race underperformer appears to be the most difficult question.



Heading to Singapore, the WDC ranking is unchanged:

Yayyy!!! Another win. I really hope that i can at least close the gap to Jenson's Understeer.

About my predictions:
1. I got 2 wins this round because i picked Rosberg to win!
2. Alonso pitting to do the fastest lap costed me that point...
3. When i was making my predictions i couldn't decide between Nasr & Palmer for the first man out... I managed to be correct and wrong at the same time!

I see now I should have mentioned Raikkonen too as race overachiever. Will change later. It doesn't affect the scores.

Singapore

The foreshadowed
In this low scoring round (only Baku and Barcelona were worse) the only question that a majority of Oracle aspirers answered correctly was the number of safety cars: seven players said "1".

The unfathomables
Five questions proved too difficult for all of us:
- Sebastian Vettel was the quali victim.
- Kevin Magnussen became the race overachiever (+6 places)
- Both Magnussen and Sergio Perez won 5 places in the first lap.
- Whereas Valtteri Bottas lost five places.
- Nico Hulkenberg was the first man to retire.

Standout predictions of the weekend
- Only robins13 predicted Nico Rosberg as the race winner.
- TypingChicane was the only one to predict Daniil Kvyat as the quali surprise (+7 places).
- Herb foresaw Felipe Massa as the race underperformer (-2 places; Hamilton and Sainz would have been correct too).
- Icemanjee1 correctly predicted three race leaders.

After Monza’s shared win, TypingChicane now takes Singapore alone. Just four points were needed for that.
Jenson’s Understeer is one race closer to the 2016 Oracle title, as the first rival is still 12 points away with only 6 races to go.

Terrible round, and I expected I'd have one at some point, but as nobody gained any ground on me it's actually not too bad!

Well, I was pretty sure from qualy on that this was going to be a poor round for me -- but it wasn't until I read the write-up that I realised just how back it was. Better luck with Malaysia, hopefully (and that goes for most people, I'm sure)!
