So was just getting the latest from Placids Corpse Chronicle and while I was saddened to read about big Roger, I was absolutely floored to read about the death of the great Paul Sherwen.

As a keen viewer of the grand tours, Paul, together with Phil Liggert, was part of my life each winter for many, many years during the grand tour season and provided outstanding insights into the world of cycling.

As someone who grew up sports mad, playing and watching as much sport as I could, losing such iconic sporting voices from my childhood such as Richie Benaud, Tony Grieg, Whispering Ted Lowe and now Paul Sherwen, hits home how quickly time passes & how much closer I am to biting the big one.

For me, only Phil Liggert, Martin Tyler & an Australian rugby league commentator name Ray Warren remain as the last significant sporting voices from my childhood, and that's sad.

This past December 21st, it was 30 years exactly when Lybian agents ordered by Moamar Khaddafi (Or Qadaffi) caused the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The closure was very bittersweet because both terrorists died from health issues and Khaddafi being mauled to death by his own people after he was ousted in 2012. Death is way too easy for them, because they do not like to be humiliated in a courtroom.

270 were killed on the air and on the ground.
