Trying to avoid impeachment, Robert Mugabe announced his resignation via speaker. 37 years that Mugabe took a stronghold and the grip finally slipped away.

Hopefully, the next president will take a backstab on Mugabe and do his telltale about the human-rights violations courtesy of his fellow North Korean backers.

Remember when he said he will rule forever? Then he is fit to stand trial at a tribunal.

My concern would be this is not an election but simply an internal change within Zanu PF, as Mgabe's deputy for some time how will this not be more of the same but with a different face.
Shame as Zimbabwe was once a rich and thriving country, can it ever climb back out of the mess Mgabe' made of it?

I re-call the same thing in Mexico when the long time party (PRI) had a history of corruption. But an individual under the name of Luis Donaldo Colosio won his primary and was assassinated by his own political party. We hope this does not repeat itself. Mugabe is willing to get revenge for throwing him out. Mugabe was very gutless not to say his resignation himself.

His resignation does not get him out of the woods for his role of human rights violations. The freedom part is done. Now they should ask for Justice.
