Been a fan of F1 since about 95ish. Had opinions on allot of posts here over the years so finally decided to join in.

I like the British drivers and to be honest, particularly LH. Not a fan of his latest sulk but he's one quick driver. No real affiliation to a team. See you in the threads :-P

Hello, Planet-f1 forum.

I'm always browsing this forum. Never got around to joining for one reason or another, but I find some of the posters pleasantly educated, and must also say there seems to be far less trash allowed when compared to other f1 sites.

My favourite racer is Hamilton. One way or another, you usually get an exciting race out of him. I have huge respect for Alonso and used to respect Seb, but feel he's damaging his stock at the moment.

Hey y'all,
Brief introduction:
Living in Melbourne and been following f1 since i was around 10 (2000) so a relative newbie compared to the stalwarts.
Being Australian i obviously follow/ed Mark Webber (so much heartbreak) and now Danny Ric.
In awe of Alonso and a huge fan of Hulkenberg, Kamui and Massa.
Not too hot on Lewis Hamilton, great driver but out of the car he always seems so fake to me.

Williams is my favoured team and hoping they can grab a win at some point soon.

Looking forward to being involved!

Hey all,
Greetings from Missouri. (AKA F1 wasteland)

Looking forward to a lively discussion and debate.

Also I like to talk with folks that understand the sport and it's nuances.

Thanks for the chance to banter.

Sincerely,
smalltime

Hi,
Been lurking for a while now and decided to join up so that I could ask all the f1 related questions that I need answers to!
Jenson fan for ages but that is a source of frustration at the moment. Keeping a keen eye on Mercedes.

Hello y'all!

Been lurking here for a little bit this season and last, and used to participate on the Speed F1 forum. Been an F1 fan since about 2002, when someone gave me as a birthday present a computer racing wheel bundled with Ubisoft's F1 Racing Simulation. I will refrain from saying too many strong things about Michael Schumacher, but suffice to say that I was not a fan of his behavior, and thus I rooted for Juan Pablo Montoya (having watched a couple of CART races on TV, his was pretty much the only name I recognized anyway).

I continued rooting for Montoya after his move from Williams to McLaren, but I was not particularly pleased by the move. But when he left F1, I couldn't bear to start watching NASCAR. I also couldn't stand Alonso's personality (and also that he had made Montoya look bad), so it seemed natural to root for Hamilton to make Alonso look bad. So I've been a Hamilton fan ever since, although I still have a soft spot for Williams, and somewhat less so for McLaren.

My perspective on NASCAR's a little different these days, having moved to Texas four years ago to realize that there's a bit of redneck in me despite being Asian. Yes, we quite luckily settled in Austin, more to do with Burning Flipside than F1. I actually had no idea it was getting an F1 track until we'd been there a couple of years. Yes, I did jump up and down many times when I did find out.

Yes, I did attend the race to see Hamilton win! I wore my ugly orange Vodafone Lewis Hamilton hat, and it now has a Mercedes patch visibly stitched onto it, where the "Vo" and "ne" are still quite visible. Austin was also a fortunate choice for my career, as I'd previously been a software engineer, was trying to switch into economics education, and lo and behold, Austin's a great place for EdTech. I also didn't realize that until having lived here a couple of years, but I didn't jump up and down as much as when I found out about the F1 track.

I've also softened a bit on Alonso because (sigh) he's my 3yo son's favorite driver. But I am quite sure he only likes him because my wife likes to needle me by rooting for Alonso even though she isn't an F1 fan. So I guess Vettel's becoming the guy I root against. Sure, I'm not particularly keen to see Rosberg score a lot of points, but I can't say I dislike the guy.

Anyway, thanks for reading all of that.

Afternoon guys, first time poster long time reader.

I'm 31, from Middlesbrough in the UK, have been watching f1 & a lot of other forms of motorsport for as long as I can remember. Spend a lot of time on my trials bike outside of work & my interest in Motorsport.

I'm a Hamilotn & Alonso fan in f1. Other favourite drivers are Loeb, Mcrae, Senna, Ken Block & Travis Pastrana.

Hi guys, been lurking for ever finally decided to join the conversations. Been watching f1 since 1990, and have only ever missed 3 races. I'm don't have any favourite team or drivers I just enjoy the racing, as I feel who ever done the best job over the winter should be up front, be it Ferrari , Red Bull Mercedes ect. I'm from South Africa, so we are pretty much in the dark when it comes to news about F1 and have to rely on the internet. So that's me looking forward to having some great conversations on here with you guys. Cheers.

Hi all;

Expatriate euro-dude living in sunny Seattle (it actually IS sunny outside right now) and looking for a place to gossip about the latest driver drama and talk tech on the latest rule and reg changes. I've been following F1 more and more fanatically over the past few years, and just bought my ticket for Austin. Yay!

Hamilton fan, really, but perfectly happy to root for Button when Hamilton's car has broken or burned or the brakes have exploded or whatever. Loving this season so far despite the engine sounds, everything else has been a surprising improvement.

Ok here we go:
Been around as a guest for a couple of years now I guess, so I felt it´s about time to
go official.

As a Finn I naturally keep my fingers crossed for Kimi and Valtteri, but generally enjoy
any good on track battle no matter who is envolved!

I´ve been an f1 fanatic since the days of Keke Rosberg, Ronnie Petterson etc. and still
watch every race if possible.

That´s about it for now, looking forward to some good reasoning with you guys,

over and out

Hi all :)

Shia (sheer) Luck....... for computer games when it says "you were passed or killed BY Shia Luck" (Yes I made that name as a teenager *grin*)

A few of my BFs were into F1 and I LOVE fast cars and bikes. SO I think I started watching about 2006 maybe, but just a few rces .. and if it was on in the pub etc.. but then got more and more interested

In 2009 My new BF asked me/us in a sunday morning brunch meet with friends, who was going to win the title this year and 'cos I had just read about Honda I said Button on the last race of the season (to be silly *grin*)

My BF put a bet on for me for him to win in Brazil at ridiculous odds ('cos he thought brazil was the last race cos it usually is/was etc)

It became a tense season with us watching every race fanatically *grinning*.

The Brazil race was partcularly tense *laughing* .

Anyway, despite a change in BFs, I remain a committed F1 fan (tho thinking it is losing its way a bit these days with pay drivers forcing out talent) and look forward to some fun chats :)

Hello F1 Forumers :-)

Another lurker here, I first recall following the forums during the 2009 preseason when I was suffering mega F1 withdrawal symptoms. There was rather a lot of discussion about a certain team called Brawn GP rocking up in testing and tearing up the time sheets. Amazing stuff :-) As with the member who posted above, Brawn's remarkable year turned out well for me at the bookies!

As a Brit, it was Hamilton who got me into the sport in 07/08 and I've always followed him since. Has his flaws, but for me still brings a lot of excitement to the track. Also being won over by Ricciardo. Team-wise quite flexible, but fond of Williams!

Myself and another F1 nut also write pieces of analysis and occasional satire at http://formulaoneanalysis.blogspot.co.uk/ I'll post on the forums when there's something interesting we've come up with! It's also the home of a great F1 Prediction League.

Look forward to some good discussions on the forum!

From Alicante (Spain) here.

Lurking the forum for a while. Watching F1 since the eighties, my child memories go to Lauda and Prost. Big fan since the Schumi-Benneton times.

Current times more fan of Hamilton than Alonso (I think they a clearly the two best) but Alonso reminds me too much of Prost... more professional than a racer if you follow my thoughts.

Hamilton would be a better version of Montoya (lot better)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm from Turkey, i have been reading, watching and talking about F1 since July 1998. My enjoyment of races turned into analyzing the whole weekend data, especially races over the years.

I am looking forward to share feelings, information and on top of that, fun chatting. :D

Hi, I'm ninjabadger.

I was into F1 since around the Senna / Prost era, but lost interest around the Schumacher period of dominance.

Got back into it several years ago due to working in a related sector.

I'm British so predictably like McLaren & Williams.

Driver wise I like JB, Hamilton (well he's grown on me in the last couple of years), also like Ricciardo, Seb & Hulk.

Not a huge fan of RedBull or the Red team.

Hey there everyone, I'm Jim, I've had an on-off relationship with F1 since the mid 80's!(sounds like an Alcoholics Anonymous introduction speech!)

Have got massively back into it these past few seasons, really looking for to the 2015 season, even if it looks like a Mercedes walkover again.

Looking to be more interactive in terms of following the sport this season, have joined a few forums (including this one), a couple FB groups and started an F1 themed podcast.

Bring it on!

Hi all, just signed up. Was reading this forum for a while now on and off. Following F1 for about 6 years now closely. Was watching some back in mid 90s too, but don't remember much from those times. I'm a supporter of Kvyat, glad to see him doing well. Also support Rosberg, sympathize with Ricciardo and Massa.

Hi all

My name is Mitch McCann. I used to be really active in the rasf1 Usenet group about a million years ago. Used to write a column there and then for Atlas F1 called The Formula One Insider. Haven't been getting involved as much recently but still watching all the races, still rooting for the Brits (even though I became an American last year), still wondering when Bernie will buy a new shirt. Nice to meet you all (except for that one weird guy in the corner that smells like cheese).

Cheers

Hey guys,

Been lurking all through-out last season, and finally decided to join up. I'm 31 and living in Denmark.

Grew up watching F1 as a kid with Senna vs. Prost, but for some reason ended up liking the Williams with Mansell. Most likely it was due to the brand new "Nigel Mansell's World Championship" computer game for my Super Nintendo.

For some reason F1 faded out of my existance for a number of years, especially during the Schumacher era, but with K-Mag suddenly having a shot at F1, the interest returned and have been watching the last few years of racing, although I am by no means an expert in the world of F1.

As a dane, I of course hope K-Mag returns to F1 (he should show more than he did, though), but apart from that I don't fanatically support any given team or driver. Although the Ferrari victory in Malaysia was definately a welcoming addition to this years F1 races.

Hey all,

I'm from Austin, TX and I'm relatively new to the whole F1 thing. I've been a McLaren fan since the F1 track was built in my back yard and I try to get there as often as possible (the US Grand Prix, of course, among other races/concerts). I don't pretend to know a ton about the sport, but I thoroughly enjoy cars.

Looking forward to interesting conversation!
