Hi guys, signed on in December and now the season has started I've found something to post about...

Long time fan, since the BRM days, yeh, that's right. First GP was watching Stirling Moss beat Fangio at Aintee for his first F1 win. Moss swore Fangio let him in at the last corner, Fangio says Moss was mistaken! The Avatar is Phil Hills Dino 156 Ferrari. I got to sit in it when he came to Aintree, '61 I think.

Old farts rule!

Welcome to the MadHouse!

And having heard Moss talking about that race, I'm inclined to say he was given it, but only because he earned it for the rest of the race.

Hello!

Greetings from America, and I love this forum, finally I have a place to talk about F1 in between race weekends (instead of going crazy speculating :] ).

Also I support Michael Schumacher and Mercedes AMG Petronas!

Finally I have a question, how long (number of posts) will it be before we are allowed to post without a admin having to approve it every time?

Thanks,
macfan74318

It's not a number of posts, it's whenever the admins clear out the list of members who need approval, which relies on them being given a kick up the backside by members, it seems. Which seeing this thread active again will hopefully do.

Oh, and welcome to the MadHouse :D

Howdy, the name's Daniel. I've been a fan of F1 since the early 90s, and an avid watcher since the late 90s

Throughout most of that time I've been a fan of Williams, and rooted for Sauber as my favourite 'underdog team'

Since Mark Webber did his first F1 tests with Bennetton and Arrows I've followed his career and therefore the teams he has been a part of.

My favourite drivers of all time would be Senna and Mansell when they were in McLaren and Williams respectively. I have disliked Schui from 94 onwards because he pooped on Senna's throne with his dirty tactics and team, although I admired the tenacity of his non championship winning Ferrari years.

I attended the 95' Friday practice session in my home town of Adelaide and have forever been irked that they took the GP over the border. That hasn't stopped me attending the 2006, 2011 and 2012 Melbourne Grand Prix though!

Hi all
I am new to PlanetF1. I was part of another F1 forum in the past, but it was not as active as this one, so joining Planetf1!
My first memory of F1 is watching the the battles between Senna and Prost at my grandparents house when i was a kid. At the age of 12 i started becoming a real F1 addict and waking up early in the morning to watch races such as the ones in Australia.

I am originally from Spain, but have lived abroad for most of my life (currently living in the UK). I dont really have a favourite driver; I think there is a lot of people out there with a lot of talent, and the fact that i am spanish doesnt make me an Alonso fan/hooligan (in fact, I dont really like Alonso!). However, if i had to say which driver I would like to see winning the championship it would have to be Schumacher or Raikkonen.

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself as I finally decided to create an account. I have followed this site for a few years now and decided that it is probably time to join in now that the new season has begun.

I am from the United States, Cincinnati to be exact, and am a huge McLaren fan. I started watching Formula 1 when I was a young boy in the mid 90s. I have supported McLaren since then and have had many favorite drivers over the years. Currently, I support Lewis and Jenson in their quest to win both the drivers and constructor titles. Besides following Formula 1 and other forms of racing, I enjoy going karting, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends while in college. Overall I am hoping for an ultra competitive season this year and am happy to have finally joined PlanetF1!

Hello everyone. Finally decided to attempt to join in! I got into F1 in the late '80's and have been fairly obsessed by it since the early '90's. My favorite driver is Jenson, although I like to see all the British drivers do well. Looking forward to a much closer season this year, wouldn't it be great if we got to the last race with 3 or 4 drivers still able to clinch the WDC?

Hi all,

as seems to be the case with a lot of people, I've been coming to the forums for a long time now but just haven't gotten round to registering. Thought I should contribute as I read it pretty much every day :-P

I've been a fan of F1 since the early eighties, and I try to watch as many races as I can, although I've only been to a couple live. Getting out of bed at stupid o'clock to watch some qualifying and races tells me I must be dedicated!

I'm impressed with the depth of knowledge many people seem to have here. Looking forward to contributing in my small way.

Zoue

Good morning from Washington DC!

Long time lurker, finally signed up :) Since nobody else stays up in the wee hours of the morning to watch the on track sessions live, I decided I had to finally sign up here so I'd have somewhere to chat, at least until we're out of Asia, as I read the forums constantly and was getting frustrated at not being able to comment.

Hey all. Been lurking for some time and have now decided to break cover.
Can someone tell me what criteria I need to fulfil before being allowed to post on the main board. I've some cool news and a couple of very intresting pics to share with everyone, particularly to the older petrolheads among us.
Many thanks, Si

Hey everyone,

I've been a guest user on this site for ages as was always curious to know people opinions in the whole of F1. Thought I'd finally sign up and start to get more actively involved.

I've been watching F1 since the late 80's and my favorite driver/team at the time was Jean Alesi in the Tyrrell. Once Tyrrell stopped my support switched over Minardi/Sauber pre BMW years.

Never been a fan of the big teams like Mclaren, Ferrari, Renault & Williams. Mainly due to not being a glory hunter like a lot of fans. In even football, The 2 clubs I support haven't won a trophy in over 50 years.

When supporting Minardi, I felt the most heartbreaking moment and 2 best moments of watching F1.

Heartbreaking:
Luca Badoer at Euorpean GP in 1999 was running in 4th place with a handful of laps to go. Then has gearbox failed!! Such a shame.

Best moment 1:
Also came at the 1999 European GP, Marc Gene finished in 6th place to score a point!! At the expense of Eddie Irvine who finished 7th in the Ferrari, which interestingly cost Irvine the title!

Best moment 2:
Mark Webber in 2002 Aussie GP getting 5th place. Amazing and unforgettable scenes.

Thats me for now. Will catch yous in the forum.

I have been lurking on this forum since I started watching F1 in 2008, and finally decided to make an account after the forums were wiped. My favorite drivers are ALO, HAM, BUT, ROS, VET, in no particular order. I decided to join the forum to share my thoughts on F1.

Hey there everyone! I'm brand new to this forum and am excited to get my F1 fill.

I just launched a new F1 site to help connect fans & drivers. I'd love for you to check it out. And please feel free to tweet about it or post it on Facebook. Trying to get the word out.

http://www.connectf1.com/

Oh, and how do you create a new topic? Or do you have to just reply to already-created topics?

Thanks!

Seth, be careful advertising other sites on here. New threads can be created as soon as the mods tell the site you're not a spammer, I think. Same with bypassing post approval.

Tufty,

Thanks for the heads-up. My post was approved, so hopefully they've flagged me as not being spam. I still can't find where to post a new topic. Where do I find that?

Thanks!

Used to be a member but been away since all the Murdoch hoohaa last year.

Back with my tail between my legs so go easy on me  Truth is, other forums are a bit boring compared to this one and I’ve really missed the lively debate.

Mainly (but not exclusively) a Macca supporter, don’t particularly single out one driver to support.

Looking forward to a great season and some energetic debate.

Cheers.

I am finish so obviesly i am Kimi fanboy :) allways has been and will be. There is something about his boldness regarding media and of course his raw speed. Very enjoyable and there is absolutely impossible to take donkey of the chair when race is on :) Ferrari time was bad becouse atmosphere there.. macca suits Kimi allways.. Lotus seems to be good for him.

Good evening all,

I am a Button fan in the main but I have to say you cant beat a good bit of Kobiashi overtaking and i love watching him race. I have been a long term F1 fan and have to say was a bit gutted when sky got hold of the coverage. Still I follow as best i can online etc and cant wait for my first live race in China.

My wife thinks i'm a bit sad joining the F1 forum, i pointed out to her that this is essentially my facebook and now she understands.

Happy racing everyone.

ps
Cheer up Vetal and stop moaning if you were graceful losing like Button and Alonso you would get even more support!!

Dave

Hi all!
Yet another 'lurker' decided to join in.

I enjoy most forms of motor sport both on 4 wheels and 2. My first GP was '84 at a wet Monaco. I seem to remember some Brazilian bloke doing rather well. That Toleman still looks cool to me! BTW: it was up for auction last week. Nope, I didn't get it :(

Don't actually support any one particular team but admit to a soft spot for Caterham. Being a Brit, that BRG and yelow stripe just 'does' it for me!

Hope to chat with some of you soon. Be gentle!

Tosh.
