Interesting information on a couple areas related to Indycar and F1. Pat O'Ward named to Red Bull Jr team is big. Its obvious that Red Bull realizes that they are in a pickle if they need a driver to fill one of the 4 spots at RBR, and TR. Dan Ticktum (sp?) isn't exactly on the fast track to getting his Super License with his recent finishes. So RB has to probably look outside the box a bit to find some good drivers. (personally, I think Herta may have been a better choice, but who knows?). This also opens the door for possible more RB sponsorship of other drivers and/or teams in indycar, which could put pressure on the other energy drink companies to also want to compete in the same forum. This makes a lot of sense, energy drinks are huge in the US and with the decline of Nascar, it might benefit to move to indycar.

The other interesting news is that Scuderia Corsa, which is an IMSA team that runs Ferrari's, but they also run Honda engines in Indycar, is going to be Ferrari red for the indy500. I guess the reason I think it is interesting, is that Ferrari might see some value in this and since McLaren is now running the indy500, it may be a little token appearance from a familiar red car company. I know that the owner is very tight with Ferrari, so it would be interesting to know exactly how involved Ferrari are in the situation and if it will just be a ferrari red or if there will be a prancing horse on the car as well. It might be cool to see Ferrari involved, and this is similar to Red Bull in the sense that there are a ton of Ferraris sold in the USA. Wonder how Honda feels about it, since they are running honda engines.

Red Bull ran in Indycar with Cheever I think back in the early 2000s, they basically stopped to divert funds to F1. Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari all returning to Indy would be awesome, especially if they all do it properly.

Let's be clear... McLaren colors on a car is not McLaren running a car at Indy. Not would Ferrari red on the cross cars be. no Ferrari or McLaren chassis, nor engjnes. It might be much more accurate to simply refer to them as sponsors as there is nothing in the cars that would bring glory to either of them as manufacturers.

I'm fully aware of the tie-in with Andretti in 2017 but is that the case again this year? Did Carlin provide the chassis and a dedicated team of McLaren employees are working on it?
