Yeah, this just showed the immature twirp he really is. I dont care how angry you are at doing something stupid, you shouldnt treat marshalls in this manner. They risk their lives for free to allow him to have his kicks. Fia should start punishing this sort of behaviour
Every driver has had their moment of anger and I can say with much confidence that, even though I have no idea who you are, you've *never* been in a situation anywhere close to such adrenaline. It happens, it happens a lot and I'm sure given the opportunity he'd apologise/the marshal knows the chances of being yelled at by a driver immediately after he gets out of the car are quite high.
Well actually you cant say with much confidence as you dont know me. But i can assure you i have raced professionally at club level and do understand the adrenaline rush. It does happen but still it doesnt excuse it and punishment should start being dealt out for it.
Did you read my post?

You may have an understanding, a vague idea, but you do not understand/know (can only imagine) the level of adrenaline in F1 thus can't understand the feelings immediately after the car has come to a rest from spinning out of qualifying. DC put it well, saying he's had a few angry moments at marshals in the heat of the moment, and later felt bad, but that it's the nature of the sport and the marshals know this and are briefed on it.
I do understand fully what you are trying to say. You insist i cant possibly know these feelings yet without knowing me or having met me you can say i havent ever felt such levels of adrenaline. What makes the adrenaline rush in F1 any greater than any other sport. Adrenaline is based on individual people getting a buzz out of what they are doing. NOT the actual sport they are doing. Someone could reach the same levels of adrenaline rush finding some new species of fish for all you know. Hence i said you cant know that i have never felt such adrenaline before.

That seems to happen with Fernano quite a lot....

Remember him yelling at Petrov, for not letting him past?
How many times do you see a driver waving his arms about in the cockpit because he feels he's being blocked?
Waving your arms at someone blocking you is one thing, but actually going and shouting at someone (after the race) who was ahead of you and racing for position because they were holding you up is something totally different. Alonso has a spoilt kid attitude and needs a reality check period. He got too used to Flav bending everyone over for him.
Excuse me, but could you please point out when did that happen? All we saw was Alonso geturing at Petrov (and Petrov gesturing back) as he was passing by him after the race. I don't see the difference between that and Raikkonen waving at an HRT which is on its flying lap and fighting for getting inside the 107% rule, as we saw today: in both cases, it is a matter of the driver being frustrated and in the heat of the moment.

And waving is not the worst that I have seen - I actually love this video, although it is missing what possibly is my favourite, the Alonso-R.Schumacher incident in Monaco, and I find it more hilarious than something to get worked up about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBMPX-i1TnI

I think kimi was horrific, its not as if he was pounding out good laps and then made a mistake in Q1, he was poor all weekend. Made even worse by the fact his team mate is starting in the top 3.

Good to see lewis on pole but as usual his biggest threat is jensen who admittedly is also a good driver himself and possibly also schumacher who starts very well. I fear for lewis button's better trye management will give button the race. I hope for both their sakes tho a mclaren mistake doesnt decide the result, I want it to be driver skill. I also hope the FIA dont butt in and start dishing out penalties willy nilly for overtake attempts like last year.

Also that HRT blocked numerous times on camera, he deserves a ban for malaysia it was that bad.

Stewards/ FIA butt in for botched overtaking maneuvers... not all of them!

:-P Oh, come on! If a car is on a fast lap during qualy and a faster car happens to be behind, that is not considered blocking - and you are fully aware of that. So yes, both situations are fully comparable - unless, of course, you consider that in one case a WDC was in play for Alonso and not for Petrov, and in the other the one who had most at stake was the HRT and not the Lotus. :)

sorry, can't agree with you on comparable situations (at all). However, considering that particular Lotus result - are you sure that HRT had more at stake ;)

another thing - why to defend Alonso it is necessary to go on Kimi??? I honestly don't think that those two drivers have any grudge against each other

I could ask exactly the opposite! But to answer your question, in this case I picked Raikkonen just because he was very frustrated today, and with good reason. But yes, I could have said Vettel, who was even seen on screen and when there were still ten minutes of Q1 to go (HRT got a lot of vawing at today!). I personally don't think waving at anyone is a big deal, so I fail to see why my comment on Raikkonen or Vettel should be perceived as an attack.

Whether Raikkonen or De la Rosa had more at stake is a matter of opinion: De la Rosa was fighting for his chance to enter the race, Raikkonen for going through to Q2 which, in principle, he should have had no problems with. Hence my comment that the HRT had more at stake. And yes, with hindsight we know that Raikkonen failed to make it to Q2; but if I am not mistaken it wasnt' because of De la Rosa's interference, but because he went slightly off in that last lap, and that was an unexpected incident. Still, it is understandable that he was frustrated with the HRT and with anyone or anything that crossed his path at the time.

PS This is the incident that the video I posted before was missing. I find it hilarious that, while in the middle of crashing, Alonso seems more bent on making his displeasure clear than on bracing for impact! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy5HV8GTqcU

it wasn't becasue of Kimi's interference De la Rosa failed 107% rule either :)

Its amazing how times changed. James Hunt punched a marshal and was almost glorified for it. Alonso gives one a nasty look and some people think he should be burned at the stake!

Maybe that's why De la Rosa did not wave at Raikkonen! ;)

I edited the post just above to include the incident that was missing in the first video - have a look.

 Thank you! The feeling is mutual, by the way :)

I am now going to see if I can get some sleep before tomorrow's race (doubtful, but I'll try anyway). Good luck to everyone, and particularly to those who will be charging from behind and trying to battle their way across the field! :D
